You mean The Open! Pretentious British bastards. LOL.
At this point, i do it on purpose as much as i can to piss whomever off. I think for years on the telecast whomever did it would have British Open on the screen. Many past players would call it British Open and thats how i knew it growing up. If i knew it as THE OPEN i would call it that all along. Somewhere along the way they changed the way they wanted the world to call it. Well, if you start it out like that fine but im not going to change because we all know what you are doing here.

If it was British Open to Arnold, thats all i need.

I never felt I could be a complete professional without having won the British Open. It was something you had to do to complete your career.

I saw a good article on it somewhere a few years ago and it was calling out the Brits since they called it the British Open too until recently.

I grew up for years hearing it called the British Open. Can't remember when or why they changed it to The Open.

I predict I watch as much of this more than I have ever watched an Open Championship. Having quadruple bypass surgery on Friday so I can be on whatever schedule I want for the next month

I'll always call it the British Open. Sue me. I'll take Fleetwood and the points but it would be nice to see an American sweep of the majors. Doesn't happen all that much these days.

It's not going to be a hot and baked out Open this year with unsettled weather set to throw up a mix of rain, dry spells and cool temperatures

OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP WEATHER FORECAST:

Thursday: 17 degrees celsius (63F), light rain and moderate breeze

Friday: 17 degrees celsius (63F), light rain and moderate breeze

Saturday: 16 degrees celsius (61F), light rain and moderate breeze

Sunday: 16 degrees celsius (61F), light rain and moderate breeze

Conditions are set to be dry for the early part of the week before 'uncertain' weather forecast for the tournament. The R&A say conditions will turn "more unsettled from Thursday with spells of rain and stronger winds likely" and will most likely remain "changeable."

Temperatures are set to be peaking at around 19 degrees celsius this week (66 fahrenheit) and winds look to be around 10-15mph.

That means we're set to see players wearing multiple layers and maybe even beanie hats, with rain currently forecast during all four days of the championship.

Finau is +12500? I know he's never won a major but he's better than some of the guys on that odds list ahead of him.

NO. He will have his 75/76 type round. Pulling for him and he is playing better, but doing it for 4 rounds hasn't happened.

WTF has happened to Sam Burns ? Dude was one of the best golfers a couple years ago, he has falling off the face of the earth golf wise.

Watch Brooksie. He will be there.

3 top ten's early in the year, then a lull, and in the last 2 months....

13th at Wells Fargo
10th at Canadian
15th at Memorial
9th at US Open

Burns is fine, and definitely hasn't fallen off the face of the earth golf wise. Oh...a win and 6 top tens a year ago.

Golf is hard...FYI.

I am talking about the very bad rounds and tournaments. Also, he was ranked as high as #9 in 2022, currently ranked 28th. Maybe falling off the face of the earth was a bit strong, but he has dropped 19 spots, hardly advancing his career. I like Sam Burns, but he has had some struggles. Golf is hard,,, but falling 19 spots, it is hard for everyone else also. Any other top 10 guys from 2022 dropped that much ?

Daniel Brown, who is currently leading, finished seventh last summer at the Barbasol at Champions. Think he won on the DP Tour later that year, so I at least knew who he was

Needless to say would be an unbelievable fluke if he held on to win. Ben Curtis or Todd Hamilton replay?

Thomas is horrendous today. At least 4 straight bogies early. Wow

Check that….double on par 3.
5 over after 5 holes.

Interesting stats from some players so far today :

JT started the day -3, now +4 and in danger of missing the cut, +7 thru 14 for the day.

Adam Scott started the day -1, now at +5 thru 17, +6 for the day.

Maverick McNealy started today even par, now +6 thru 6. he is blowing any chance of making the cut.

Tony Finau the same even par starting, now is +6 thru 10.

Matthew Fitzpatrick started today -1, finished +7 (+8 today) and missed the cut.

Min Woo Lee started today even par, finished +9 (80)

Robert McIntyre started today +1, is +7 thru 9 holes and +8.

The WTF award goes to,,,,, Aguri Iwasaki. Started the day at +3, goes out and fires a hacker +23 (91) today. LOL, +20 for 18 holes, how does that even happen for a Pro golfer ? Might be the highest round I have ever seen on tour.
