Every year a thread like this is started and every year I ask why doesn't the NCAA allow the #'s 6-9 be allowed? SOOOOO DUMB. Everyone is running out of numbers

If I remember correctly I read/heard somewhere that they only use #'s 0-5 to make it easier on refs when letting the scoring table who a foul was called on...for example if a player is wearing #15 the ref holds up 1 finger on 1 hand and 5 fingers on the other hand.

I remember the same reasoning way back when I was in Jr. High. I guess nothing's changed. We need to develop refs with more fingers.

Yeah, it is a pretty archaic rule, yet they use large numbers and even 3 digit numbers in AAU events...heck put on a head set to communicate with the scorers table or just get closer when communicating....#6, #7, #8, #9 should be jersey numbers in play

If players stilled stayed in school like they used to, Duke would have so many retired jerseys that they would need to start using Prince-like symbols or emojis.

We should have the rule removed and make everyone on the team number 87 and up, haha.

Yeah, someone tell him already it's Duke University.

It is funny though....there's a thread at UK where some of their fans think he was trolling UK by starting out with "University of...." during his announcement.

Yea I thought at first he was nervous at his commitment speech, but then when I saw his Twitter with the same thing I was like maybe he doesn't actually realize it's Duke University!! Lol! Still very happy to have him though.

i was thinking that he messed up at the announcement and then just played off of that miscue on his twitter post........any word on a # selection?...the reloaded pic has him in #20, but tatum also had that at one time before going with #0...but prob #20 it is
