We have started several threads and polls about who should be the next coach IF Stoops is not retained. So let's add a bit of realism to the discussion. We can look at potential replacements, surmise the what/if this coach moves on/is he available routine, but this is done in a vacuum.
We should look at coaches on the hot seat as well because those positions will become available and we need to understand where we are in the pecking order. It would be simple to hire Les Miles as the next coach if no other options are available to him. But would he choose Kentucky over Texas if given his choice. Not likely.
So other teams that could be looking for a new coach http://www.si.com/college-football/2016/08/11/college-football-coaches-hot-seat-2016-season

Not that all of these positions will come open, but we clearly will not have the pick of the litter.
Opportunities (if opened) that are certainly more attractive than Kentucky
Charlie Strong, Texas
Les Miles, LSU
Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M
Gus Malzahn, Auburn
Mike Riley, Nebraska
Clay Helton, USC
Gary Andersen, Oregon State
Probably equally attractive
Darrell Hazell, Purdue
Tracy Claeys, Minnesota
Mike MacIntyre, Colorado
Derek Mason, Vanderbilt
Steve Addazio, Boston College
Less attractive
Dave Clawson, Wake Forest
Paul Petrino, Idaho
Paul Haynes, Kent State
Ron Turner, Florida Int'l
John Grass at Jacksonville State (added)
