It is in a 4th place tie with the ACC, behind the SEC, Big 10 and PAC 12. Do not ever say this league is better than the ACC.

I will say...after OU getting pushed around all night, it's hard to argue against the point of the OP.

LOL... The ACC is the distant #5 Power Conference and no rational mind thinks otherwise.

You're angry, we get it. All we learned from this game is this that Clemson is better than OU - again.

it is reeling from conference realignment. A lot of schools had trouble recruiting during not just one but two rounds of it. From 2005 to 2011 or 2012 it was right up there with the best of them. These things are cyclical and it will come back around. My problem is when the Big 12 was good, it wasn't really touted much by the national media, but is a league like the Big 10 pisses half way straight, they get propped up by outfits like ESPN like they are the best thing since sliced bread. Hope OU takes out tOSU next year.

This is non-physical conference. Spread offenses rely of speed, finesse and scheme. Defenses have adapted in this conference to that. But, when it comes time to line up and play hard nosed football Big12 teams are out of luck.

Clemson brought a physical game to Oklahoma today. But there isn't another team in that conference that would out-physical Big 12 teams.

And while other more physical programs might be able to ground and pound, most would be hard-pressed to keep up with Big 12 offenses.

The Big 12 is a WEAK conference, while ACC could have their second title in 4 years. OSU is not doing well.

The Big 12 is somewhat like the Big 10: top heavy. The problem with the Big 10 this bowl season was that the 2 most talented teams (OSU-Mich) were shut out of the big bowls due to some crazy chain of events. CF is very hard to predict anymore

Love the acc hate but if we win that's 2 out of 3 years and in first 2 playoffs.

Doesn't seem weak too me

A team does not a conference make. That's why conference strength is measured by all the teams.

And when that is done, the ACC is clearly the weakest Power 5 conference. And it's not really debatable over the season.

Bowls are an important barometer as they feature cross-conference competition. But again, how just ONE team performs is not an indication of CONFERENCE strength.

If it was, you want the ACC judged on FSU's bowl performance?

OK, big brain alert on Jim WV Jim.
That's right, he gets it.

If it were remotely possible I'd try to flip him to the Sooners.
However, I'm sure he's signed a letter of intent years ago, and alas, we won't be able to lure him into the OU fold.:D

Well then let's hope TCU or KSU make something happen. Cuz right now the Big XII is leaning pretty heavily on being judged by Baylor's bowl performance.

The Big 12 is weak because Texas consistently is arrogant and underachieves.

Root cause of the weakness is the failed Longhorn Network, and the unfavorable finances and attitude dealt to universities like Nebraska and Missouri.

In summary, a huge part of why Texas is hated is evidenced by the weakness of the Big 12. UT is full of jackasses that think their farts smell like chocolate cake and everyone else should love them.

Thanks for ruining the Big 12, Texas.

As we sit here watching OSU get beat like a drum I guess we can all do our best Chicken Little about the Big 12.

However, before the last few bowl games, the Big 12 was ranked only behind the SEC in overall strength. The league plays a round-robin and outside of Kansas, there is no lower tier to feast on the way other comferences do.

West Virginia is relatively new to the Big 12 party and I know we don't pretend to offer the value that Nebraska and Missouri offered, but I do think the Big 12 is far stronger than some in this thread believe.

And Texas will be back soon enough.

Bringing WVU in was a great move. Jury is still out on TCU, but the Big 12 should've courted you Eers years ago.

The problem is Texas. No one wants to side with a bully unless they are forced to. There is the entire dynamic in the Big 12 at current.

And despite all their advantages, Texas mostly wastes them. Being pompous is the tradition there, not overachieving. Texas is already back.

That's because Texsucks sucks so bad. Field a competitive team sometime in the next few years and maybe your dirty diaper will matter. Until then, you'll just have to wait until the Sooners are done dealing with their Big 12 Championship before we have time to soothe your pathetic cries.

Are you kidding? YOU HAVE ONE TEAM!!! Baylor manhandled your #2 team, and Baylor was our #4 team. LOL at the ACC...then your #3 team gets owned by HOUSTON.

ACC IS THE WEAKEST POWER CONFERENCE. Period. Clemson is having ONE good year. Congrats.

Non physical conference? I doubt a Hog fan should be talking crap especially considering they lost to Toledo and Texas Tech.

You SEC fans seem to think your the only conference in tge world who plays physical football and insinuates the rest of the country plays a variation of flag football. Even the coaches in your conference use the " we are so beat up while everyone else isnt ". Which is their way of making excuses for losing.

So tell us Hog boy when you played Tech and Toledo was it because you brought your flag football team? You remind me of all your SEC brethern who claim the B12 doesnt play defense but trust me I have the data to prove just how wrong you are but I am pretty confident in black and white you wouldnt be able to comprehend it and even if you did you wouldnt acknowledge how wrong you are.

Ask Tennesse if they think OU isnt a physical team. In this case against Clemson the better team simply won the game in the trenches so hats off to them.

This has to be one of the more idiotic threads in a while...

OU was holding there own with Clemson at halftime, 17-16 lead and behind only 23-17 midway through the third. Certain plays occur during the game that changes strategy, etc. Parker's dumb decision to try for an intercept when he had no chance allowed the Clemson receiver to score, 30-17. We have to throw the majority of the game from then on.

Did your clueless *** watch the Baylor/NC game? A team that gave Clemson all they wanted got PUSHED AROUND by Baylor's wildcat formation ALL GAME.

Bowl games have NEVER been a good barometer of a conferences standing. Too many variables involved.
