We are loaded on both sides of the line of scrimmage with people who have no business playing in the SEC. Drinkwitz is positioned to very likely win 10 games again this year and Missouri is not a premier NIL school. Mizzou's players chop wood the whole ballgame. Is anyone paying attention?

Drinkiwitz is a coach SC fans would have NEVER tolerated being hired bc he came from (GASP!!!) a non-SEC team. First we have to get over ourselves and realize we suck, and anyone who is a winner at any level could be good. Look at freaking Indiana

I wasn't that impressed by Mizzou. Their running game is solid. Defense is not overly impressive. They didn't cover against us. We aren't that good. Too many dumb mistakes. They'll lose games for sure this season.

I didn't see the final box score, but I think this will be the 3rd week in a row that our opponent had fewer than 10 yards in one aspect of their offense. KU had 3 yards rushing, Louisiana had 4 yards passing (with an admittedly bad QB) and USC had <10 yards rushing. Name another team that has come close to that. It's OK if they played cupcakes.

What'd we have, 14 penalties?

Tell me this is a well-coached team, in any dimension.

Don't really care myself, but I feel bad for those that squander their money year after year. Beamer's smugness and loyalty to his (pathetic) assistants should get Donati's attention this offseason.

Congrats on the win, MU. You manhandled us on the ground. We kept it close for the most part. Closer than I would have thought. You guys deserved to win and will probably win a lot of games. Hardy is a hoss.
It kinda feels like 2023 all over again, but this time we have 2 Cody Schraders. I was expecting Jamal Roberts to be more of a 3rd down back who would be a solid runner as well as good at picking up blitzers. He's gotten a lot better. I think we are going to wear out a lot of defenses.

Our non AD thought the SEC was a entry level job for a HC.

Missouri more times than not has been better than SC. Of course when you play undisciplined like SC seems to always be doing its not that hard. This team was so overrated its not funny. Another thing if your going to portal in an out like Beamer does you better have quality coaches to get chemistry quickly. Thats not remotely happening with this staff.

I'm going to be interested to see if beamer tries to defend teasley this week. This has to be the worst offensive line performance I think I've ever seen. Granted, sellers took some pretty stupid sacks which probably went against our run total, but there's no excuse for negative rushing yards in a game. Well coached and well disciplined teams do not make the kind of mental errors and offensive penalties we made today.

I felt like, especially the first half, Mizz decided to shut down the run game and dare us to throw it and we just kept running the ball anyway.

-7 rushing yards is embarrassing - it's obvious and has been ol coach Teasley has to go and Shawn Elliot should fill that slot - also side note if we are unable to rush the ball which seems to be the case first 4 games it's going to be a long season so buckle up folks

Shula is not it and is not a sec oc and under him we will continue to lack a competitive and consistent offensive gameplan

Clayton's defensive scheme at times leaves a lot to be desired and too many times gets completely violated

Take a handful of players away from both the coordinators and it would be waaaay worse

We are in a top tier league and until will get top tier coordinators we will continue on this roller-coaster ride of inconsistency and ups and downs and im an extremely optimistic and positive person but let's just call a spade a spade - enough is enough

Blessings and Peace to all 🙏

I stopped counting at "4" with false starts on the OL. OL had 1,2,3,4 false starts before I quit counting. But I'm sure Beamer will say he thought the OL played well......

This is how bad our OL is: My GF is an NC State fan and we watched the Vandy game together and the only comment she made after the game was that "Ya'lls OL sucks." ---- I had not said one word to her about the OL. That was her observation all on her own. She can see it, Beamer can't.

I was an optimist about this program, however I am now a realist. This team is not good!! 4 wins is probable, 5 at best case. Worst offensive line and defensive line since Muschamp days.

True. He has an offensive line that gets a push on every play - they execute their assignments. We don't have that nor do we have an every down back. I thought Fuller looked good but he played very little in the second half.

Yes, Mizzou is tough, hungry, well coached, and disciplined. We're none of those things right now.

Circa 2023 on Offense so far.

Sellers did make some amazing throws.

Players do deserve credit -- We were leading the game at half, going into the 4th quarter, and had a chance almost up until the bell.

Thought the defense did a pretty good job considering they were on the field most of the game.

Missouri is very well balanced on offense. We still might end up their toughest game of the year at home.

Some fair points. The frustrating part was knowing they were going to pound the ball at us in the fourth quarter and we still had no answer on defense combined with our own ineptitude on offense when we needed a scoring drive. 6 points in the second half wasn't cutting it. Too many dumb penalties, sacks given up and inability to run the ball cost us too.

Agree. Being on the field for that long with the power running game just took its toll on the road.

It’s maddening!

A very small minority of us were calling for him to be canned after 2023. After last season, it was virtually unanimous agreement that he had to go.

Maddening because this was just so very predictable. I would be disappointed in how season has gone, but I would not be quite so mad if our biggest issue wasn’t one that was so very predictable. Like, literally everybody in the nation knew we had OL as last year. We did nothing to address it.

Not that you care, considering you called me a BOTMAN - (I still only have this one account) --- But I actually agree with you for the most part.

There were a couple of plays on D that IMHO, were just flat out "fluke" plays that resulted in big YAC (Yards after Contact in this instance) but I chalked those up to "those plays are going to happen occasionally" - and I offer up the couple of miraculous catches the VT WR's made with our DB's all over them. It's football. It's going to happen. Overall, the D kept us in the game and didn't look completely clueless. I too, thought the did a pretty good job.

My gripe is not with the D at all. My gripe is the OL, the play calling, and no one has come out and said it the way I'm going to say it, but it seems to me that someone/s has completely neutered Sellers. And neutering him is somewhat understandable *IF* the long term plan is for him to come back next season and get better as a QB. - On the other hand *IF* his plan is to leave after this year and declare for the draft - then either he is scared of getting hurt so he's not taking any big chances like he did last year - OR - he has someone/s in his ear telling him to tone down the "Superman" stuff that he was doing last year - and it is costing him dearly. He's either scared or getting very bad advice.

He's still inconsistent and doesn't seem to know the situations very well. Eating that sack for a 15 yrd loss on the goal line was just inexcusable. Completely inexcusable. He's got to know better than that. (Bottom line, and I'll take the heat: He ain't ready for the next level yet)

That wasn't the only bad sack that he took. There were several.

I think a lot is now teams know what sellers can do and are game planning around it (not that they didn't know by game 5 last year). The spy can really just focus on him as they don't have to worry about a back breaking through to the next level with that line in front of him. It's sad we can't just line up and run a standard run play...I mean I guess we can but instead of 3yds and a cloud of dust it's -3 yards. If we could muster any semblance of a rushing attack the outlook would be so much better. Sadly I'm not too optimistic but being a fan i always hold out hope that the switch will come on and these guys will remember how to actually block someone.

A successful running game would fix that right quick.

That wasn't the only bad sack that he took. There were several.
DCs know how to defend him now. Illinois figured it out before the bowl game. He has a great arm but his decision making is iffy and when the scramble for big yards is taken away with a spy, he struggles. His best plays were when MO rushed three and the receivers had time to get downfield for long completions. As long as they rushed four or more, Sellers wasn't nearly as effective.

Sellers and Rocket were the tandem which drove the offense. Those RPOs kept defenses more honest. This is a big reason why he's boxed in and throwing more. You've seen his running plays this year. It's super obvious.
