This team sucks, so every game, someone just thinks the guy that isn't getting minutes but is also terrible should play. Endless cycle.
There is some truth to that. If we had lost to IU and St John's, I might be asking the same question. But that isn't the case. Pope has been desperately seeking a winning lineup from this group and it he went 0-4 against good teams before finally finding something that worked in the 2nd half of thst IU game. So, if it ain't broke (and it was before), don't fix it.

Jelavic could be a stretch 4 if he could make a 3 consistently, but he hasn't made many. He's not a great defender and he's not great offensively. Now that Quaintance is available, he may not get many minutes. He's gonna have to earn them in practice, and I'm not gonna give Pope a hard time if we're winning games.

he should get backup minutes at the PF. has a better offensive game than garrison. let garrison/moreno fight out backup center minutes.

He can’t shoot. Takes contested bad shots. Does not want to pass at all. He’s most effective in the post but refuses to post up. He’s only shot maybe 3 free throws all year? Hopefully he figures it out by next year. Has a chance to be a good complimentary player

Where would you put him in? The game is more than spot shooting.

In fact you dont have to be bombs away from 3 if you run sets, get stops, and control the glass. Which of those previous 3 things does he do?

I think OP has a point.
Why is he not getting some minutes? Not saying he should be a starter.
Are we really saying that Williams, Garrison, Noah, and maybe even Chandler are looking so good out there that it forces Jelavic to the bench?
Not sure I have seen that yet this season.
And nobody can factually claim that he is worse than all those players mentioned. That sample size is too small. Everybody has shot air balls, and been beaten on defense, so no, Jelavic has not shown that he is the guy that should be at the end of the bench.

Has to be an injury or some form of Pope's dog house.
Really curious what it is, because I think he can help this team with more PT.

I can't understand why Pope insists on two centers out there at the same time. He's been doing it with Garrison and Moreno, and now JQ is playing next to Garrison. BG is not a PF!
I think it's because it fits what this team has to be to win: Offensive Rebounding, Defense & Energy. I would almost always agree with you. I don't want Centers who can't shoot playing PF nor do I want PFs playing SF (you know, for the important reason of showcasing the skills they don't yet have for the purpose of maintaining their draft stock). But for this season, I understand and agree with it on many occasions.

The thing is Dioubate gives you more of everything at PF than Garrison. I don’t recall now, but I doubt we played JQ, BG, and MoD at once? Just play Dioubate with the centers when you want to crash the glass and play with energy. When Dioubate goes out just make sure JQ is in and play Kam at the 4 and I doubt the defense drops off much. Just my two cents of course.
