Penn State should embrace its northeastern roots, be ELITE. o_O , and deemphasize football.

Very good analysis. The notion that a strong NFL team hurts the local college team in the city really rings true in the PHilly area, but when the Steelers had the dynasty back in the 1970's, the Pitt Panthers had their best run of great teams in their history at the same time, so I wonder how the video author would care to explain that exception to his theory. Also, with the Pitters being awful now for so long, does that have an effect with the Steelers being mediocre also for this extended period? Another thought is what long term effect could the NIL and the portal have on the Northeast if PSU, Syracuse and others would pull up their big boy pants and pay out the big money to bring the top recruits back, how will that change the perception of Northeastern football?

I blame it on espn . I was looking back on Lambert trophy winners . What was the furthest west team to win the trophy ? Furthest south ? You are definitely at least leaking oil if you have to go that far to award the trophy .

Meanwhile, there are D3 programs everywhere in the Northeast. Out west and in the south, they barely exist.
That is true. The location of these Universities is due, in part, in the population centers of the northeast. These universities can draw from these population centers. One of the arguments that the video made was that in the south and west, a centralized campus served the less populated areas.

Did you watch the video? He doesn't consider Pittsburgh to be in the Northeast. He doesn't really consider Penn State to be in the Northeast. Also, the 70s were 50 years ago.

I'm not doubting you, but I find this hard to believe. D3 sports keeps my old school open.
