Anyone catch the premier this past Sunday? The same guy who wrote/produced The Wire is now working on a show about the birth of pornography and prostitution centered around Times Square in the 70's. Naturally, a lot of characters you've seen in other HBO shows, mostly from The Wire.

Stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, neither have wowed me yet, but neither were duds like you might expect them to be. Lots of titties, but also a decent amount of dick. Seems to be the new trend with feminism. No longer do you get shows with tons of female nudity that draw the line at showing you dongers...You get both, for better or worse.

Pretty good so far. Like The Wire, kind of a slow burn. They aren't offing characters every episode. Good dialogue, very "real" feeling. The episode only somewhat leaves you with a story arc. Nothing "oh ****!" worthy, but you can begin to tell where this will go.

I usually wait about a month before I start a show that way I can burn through 3/4 episodes and see if it's worth my time, looks promising though. Maggie gylenhall isntbthat pretty to look at but she's been good in everything I've seen her in.

Normally I wait out shows. Just too many to waste my time on. But for me, Simon and HBO is can't miss. I'll jump on it from the get-go.

Don't like MG's midwestern looks cause concern, there's plenty of other hotties dumping them out left and right.
