Anyone catch the premier this past Sunday? The same guy who wrote/produced The Wire is now working on a show about the birth of pornography and prostitution centered around Times Square in the 70's. Naturally, a lot of characters you've seen in other HBO shows, mostly from The Wire.
Stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, neither have wowed me yet, but neither were duds like you might expect them to be. Lots of titties, but also a decent amount of dick. Seems to be the new trend with feminism. No longer do you get shows with tons of female nudity that draw the line at showing you dongers...You get both, for better or worse.
Pretty good so far. Like The Wire, kind of a slow burn. They aren't offing characters every episode. Good dialogue, very "real" feeling. The episode only somewhat leaves you with a story arc. Nothing "oh ****!" worthy, but you can begin to tell where this will go.
