I can't help but laugh a bit at this notion that Ole Miss discovered a "formula" for beating Kentucky last night. Let's think about this for a moment.

#1 75% of your offense consists of contested jump shots with a hand in your face. Make 50% of them.
#2 Shoot better than 53% from 3 point range.
#3 Shoot better than 85% from the free throw line on 20+ attempts.
#4 Have 3 guards score 15 or more, with 2 going for 20 or more.
#5 Catch UK a bit flat in defensive intensity.

Sure, there's your formula. ANYONE should be able to duplicate that, right?

And by the way, they still lost.

You left out play us even-steven on the boards, which may be the most implausible stat of them all.

In other words, play the game of your lives and hope we miss and don't rebound and play at about 50% of our normal defensive intensity.

Good luck with that....

Yep.

With that said, this stuff does happen, occasionally. We have to be ready for a team playing out of their minds against us.

It reminded me of that game, but also of the regular season LSU games last year. Also the game in Fayetteville in the first half where they seemingly made every seventeen-footer they shot.

Ole Miss's point guard was a dead ringer for Anthony Hickey. Anthony Hickey doesn't even look as much like Anthony Hickey as that guy.

Yeah all you worried about this team need to get your head check. Hola, 'We Dem Boyz' as the kids say. Clearly the best team in college basketball. Let it play out. That might be the closest game we play all year.

Great Post. I had almost the exact same sentiments last night after the game. In fact I attempted to write this thread 2 or 3 times but couldn't get it right so I ditched the idea. Glad someone posted though.

It got to the point during the game that whenever the put up a shot I just knew it was going in. It didn't matter who was guarding Moody or the other kid, whatever crap they threw up just went in. It was actually kinda comical really.

This topic made me think of all the other "Formulas" that have been floated out there for beating us. Hit tons of 3's, Out rebound us, slow the game down to a crawl etc. We've met every single challenge and while the games weren't always pretty we have always won. This kids are winners.

Just Win baby!

Yeah, the formula.....throw up miracle shots and hit them, and catch UK playing rusty.....I'm sure that formula is foolproof.

The only reason you won was because of the homecookin' free throw disparity.

Agreed. They just kept hitting shots out of their mind last night. There were some that fell and I just laughed. I mean, seriously?! There were some that were pure crap shots that fell, too. That group will never shoot that way collectively again in their lives. You can write that down.

Was this really said by them? It is believable because this is something they always say.
