It's been great to see Lindsey round into form, because Vandy will test our perimeter defense as much as any team we've played and we'll need his presence on the wing. They have a 7'1" center, Luke Kornet, who shoots 33% from three. That could end up being a tough match-up for Pardon, a pretty good interior defender who left Swanigan open a few times from 3 the last time we played Purdue. What's interesting is Kornet is the worst 3-point shooter in their starting lineup. I think we have to live with what Kornet does, control defensive rebounds and not let guys like LaChance (49 percent from 3) and Fisher-Davis (37 percent) get going off screens and on fast breaks.

This seems like a game for Ash and not Brown. I think the key on both sides is Lindsey. He probably has to get 10-15 points and some drives to the basket.

If we're focused, we have the perimeter defense, rebounding and scoring threats to win. I'm pretty worried that we won't be. This team has done better than every other team we've had facing the national hype, but this is uncharted territory for everyone.

Can't wait to see what happens in person.

Yeah, some of the pundits are giving the edge to Vandy because it is as you say, "unchartered territory" for us. We are fortunate though that Coach Collins has been to the NCAA Tournaments on multiple occasions and for him it is old hat.

I really really hate to say it, but I have a very bad feeling about this game. Which, I have to say , is not unusual because I tend to be a pessimist. But I'm still very happy the 'Cats are there and I will be watching and hoping against hope for a win.

What other games did you have a bad feeling about?

I bet there has never been a first time coach in the tournament that knows half CC knows about being in the tournament. But it is different being in charge.

We need Ash over Brown and Taphorn for his defense! We cannot let Vanderbilt hit the open three! Brown is too smalll to pose a danger to the Vandy shooters! My guess is we stuff em with Law,Sanjay, Ash,Skelly,Lindsey,Benson, to spell Pardon, and Mac! Law and Lindsey, and Ash are key as they are athletic enough to defend Vandy shooters!

a lot of people have been trumpeting Kornet, but I think if the Cats piccolo post position and let Scottie guard him we will be ok. Otherwise the season will be over and we will be fishing for bassoon

Not worried about uncharted territory. Since the Brooklyn tourney this team knows that they can compete with any team. Some early-in-the-game jitters I do worry about. We know how positive a fast start is with our team. Is Luke 7' or 7'1"? He's getting taller every 48 hrs. Pardon's wing span is 7'2". I wish I could fast forward the next 16 hrs. Let's get this started! Happy for those of you in SLC!

I am hoping for one of those big in-game runs we have been putting together lately.

I think it will be a close game, the teams are evenly matched and both have good reasons that they will win.

SHOULD be very close.

It will be interesting to see how NU defends against a team that shoots 3s so well.

Here's hoping NU can summon their best game now that they've done the work to get here... and avoid the notorious slow start... and avoid those mid-game slumps where they can't score at all for several minutes...

GO CATS!
