Read the book a long time ago - what stands out still is the fact that these terrible diseases like Ebola, Ebola Zaire and others will change their molecular structures over time and render once-effective vaccines completely useless.

That...and the authors belief that these diseases are part of earth's natural self-defense system.

Funny thing is - Ebola didn't appear anywhere on earth until about 1976
So that's a pretty new defense that the earth created -- and Mr Earth only created it in Central Africa really......I wonder what they think the Earth was defending itself against in central Africa?

There are 'vaccines' that haven't gone through human trials that are being injected into tens of thousands of ppl in Africa right now

And those serums (you really CANT call them vaccines if they haven't been tested w/humans to show their efficacy etc).......those injections are widely varied

The last time I read in detail on this the USA, Russia and China ALL had one or more non-human-tested concoctions that were being shot into people......

THAT **** right there needs a close eye on it with a good / objective longitudinal study (or three) to monitor side effects......esp given the other factors in the region (co-morbidity w/other diseases spreading and open conflict - dirty water ..... treatment of corpses / eating monkeys......)

Ebola hadn't really changed for over a decade or so - there were 4 or 5 known types

I think the most recent mutation (that we know of) was around 2014 or 2016

**** ain't right with this story, y'all

I think Ebola mutated from Marfans. Also read the book long time ago. Great book. Was meh about the dramatization. Regardless, that's what virus' do. Look at the Spanish flu for example. Killed millions, then just disappeared. Some of these diseases burn themselves out before they can spread further, just like a wildfire.

As a PS. LA has transformed into not a third world hell hole, but a middle ages hell hole. That this happened under a totally democratic regime is a disgrace, but not at all unfathomable. Democrats/Socialist...promising heaven, delivering hell, for 200 years. And some of you idiots are still buying into their stupidity.

Reports starting to come in from multiple sources that immigrants from the Congo ....a region within Africa where Ebola is active/spreading....

Are arriving in Texas - San Antonio is the only location I have seen confirmed so far

That’s going to require some unique attention from the public health officials in that state IMO

When I was at cdc I remember Texas working a lot of their chronic disease pgms independently (imagine that) from Atlanta- CDC....

Not sure if they handle infectious disease similarly- guess it depends on what kind of outbreak they have ...note that this linked tweet doesn’t prove a relationship between these immigrants and Ebola

But Texas better be thinking about it

The two biggest non-political rationales for protecting borders are:
1) public health/ epidemiological reasons
2) economic equilibrium

Pisses me off everytime I think about the flood of people coming in our southern border. We are just asking for trouble letting them in.

As for the show. I’m halfway done and I like it. I originally gave it shot due to it having Liam Cunningham but it’s been pretty good overall. Yet another example of decision makers being willfully ignorant and arrogant enough to think something terrible couldn’t happen on US soil.
