This is of course not news to most UK fans but, the intense nature of the hatred being directed toward this program right now is amazing. Even in the most mundane articles about college basketball that barely mention Kentucky the hatred comes thru in the comments that follow. For example, yesterday I read an article on Yahoo Sports (I know) about Duke moving up to the #2 spot in this week's AP poll. Pretty basic stuff, nothing to see here. But, just wait! When reading the comments from readers it didn't take long for the comments to turn into a bunch of hate-filled attacks on Cal, UK and our fans. Nothing new...same old "Cal cheats", "UK pays players" and "UK fans are inbred rednecks" garbage.
But, it has all been taken to new heights with the 31.-0 run and UK being covered everywhere you look during this season.
It's everywhere. Newspaper writers (Boston Globe) and even the Finebaum show (which is still awful by the way) yesterday featured a bunch of idiots attacking Cal and UK. We are in the heads of every member of the news media, every fan of an opposing program and it's simply amazing that so much hatred can be directed toward a bunch of 18-19 year old kids.

I think its absolutely glorious and fantastic for UK basketball. Just make sure they spell the name right.

My only fear is that Cal is bothered by it. To the degree that he wants to be liked....then it will wear on him. But to the degree that he enjoys being the protagonist in this NCAA play......then he may be energized by the media spotlight. Everyone else in the nation shrinks by comparison. EVERYONE.

He has dealt with haters for a vast majority of his coaching career. He has continued to shut people up over and over. The only think the hate is caused by now is sheer jealousy. He knew exactly what he was getting into when he came to UK and he absolutely loves it.
