Liberals are criticizing Disney's "the Little Mermaid" for not dealing with the subject of slavery. I think this is a valid take. In fact, I stand 100% behind giving reparations to all mythological creatures, including Sasquatches, Chupacabras, and Skinwalkers. However, because of its white supremist leanings, all Yeti should be excluded.

I am not the one critical of a movie about a fish. I am critical But your reactions to supposed racism is pretty indicative of the "all racism, all the time" mindset. You should embrace the morals of the story about the "boy who cried wolf!"

I think a race blogger in England had a criticism of the film.

Is this correct?

Maybe you need to reflect on how this “controversy” was presented to you and you fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

Is this the same movie where dudes with goatees, sunglasses, camo hats, jorts and grass stained white New Balances were upset over the race of the fictional character?

Now the other side with the purple hair and men in dresses is also upset?

It seems like the sides are just all a bunch of pu$$ies who like to me mad about dumb ****.

it doesn’t make sense that the mermaid is black. That’s just dumb. There is no environmental benefit to being a black mermaid. Granted, there’s even a smaller likelihood that being a red head is an advantage, but if you need vitamin D at all (since a mermaid is part human), you need all the sun you can get. So the paler the better I would assume. I would argue that the real mermaid should be blue. Allows you to hide or hunt in a water environment.

This is an interesting and reasonable response from a realism standpoint.

It's literally 1 guy in Britain. He's got a Twitter bullhorn, but 99.9% of people are giving him grief over that stance. That dude's a clown as much as the OP for starting a thread about his ridiculous criticisms.

Saw it with my kiddos - was pretty good, we enjoyed. Forgot how insanely loud movie theaters were though, christ.

This is true a lot when it comes to these faux outrages. You’ll see an article on buzzfeed or Huffington Post that are worded as if the entire world is outraged, when in reality it’s like 10 people.
