Ok I know everyone is upset to some extent with UNC winning but Golf's first major begins Thursday. Who will win it? I will go with Dustin Johnson with a Dark Horse pick if you call him that in Justin Thomas. What do others think on this? Post if you want

I think it's Rory's time to get a green jacket... With my dark horse candidate being jon Rahm I think he has so much confidence coming into this week plus his green side touch will be quite helpful this week.

Spieth for me b/c the media will hound him about #12 last year. Thurs & Fri look to be quite windy, scores may be high.

I am a golfer and at the Pro level it's becoming a young man's game. If I had to pick an older guy I think it could be Mickelson

I will go with Matsuyama if he can regain his form from earlier in the year (usually involves putting with him) and a dark horse of Adam Hadwin

I think he higher winds could allow the older guys to stick around the leaderboard.

It's hard to bet against DJ though. I think it could be the year for Kuchhhhhh

I am a Jason Day fan, but I don't think he is even playing. I would like to see Fowler get one.

Oh ok, cool. I thought he may be taking off due to the issues with his mother. Pulling for him then.

Love the Rahm pick. I'm also a huge Phil guy.

Think there are a lot of guys that can win this thing- Rory, Spieth, Phil, Justin Thomas, Hedeiki, Rahm etc. but right now it's hard to pick anyone other than DJ. He's hot as fire right now, putting well and just tearing to shreds every course he plays. He's won his last three starts and didn't lose a match in the WGC in Austin.

Halfway through the Masters! What's everyone's pick looking at the leaderboard? I'd like to see Ricky Fowler win it. Dark horse is Spieth or Mickelson

Ole boom posting 67, 66 to close it out would be a storybook ending.
Unfortunately, that could be his putt count over the weekend(he would be leading now if you take away 3 putts and missed inside 5 feet).

Phil really shot himself in the foot with bogeys on 16 and 17 to finish yesterday. (He could have just as easily made bogeys on 15 and 18, too.)

The best part of the first two days, imo, was watching Fred Couples. Still love the guy and it's amazing what he's doing at 57 years of age. I'll say it until I die....the prettiest swing I've ever seen. Just gorgeous.

For some reason, I like Justin Rose. He's just laying in the weeds. I see him doing something today and getting into one of last two groups for tomorrow.

Despite Phil's putting yesterday, he's still in the hunt but the guy I think will be there come Sunday on the back 9 will be Spieth

I like the Justin rose call, and unfortunately agree on lefty. Dude played himself right out of it in his last five holes with those three bogeys. He also missed five putts inside 7 feet. You can't win that way and especially him. Anyone else four or five back and I think they can win.

I still like Jordan and Rory and think by the end of the day one of the two will find themselves in one of the last two groups just a shot or two off the lead.

Jim Nance butchered that final call. That was a lowlight for an otherwise fantastic commentator.

Honestly very happy for Sergio. Anyone that has watched him his career has seen him grow up. Rose was very gracious as well. Great tournament

Kuch did not win but did finish top 5 with a hole in one...

Happy to see Sergio win one after all these years. Pretty special moment

Not a big fan of Sergio. Can't get past all the things he does and says at the Ryder cup. Would have loved for Fowler to have steeped up and won!

I think/hope Fowler wins a Major at some point. As far as Sergio goes people say he has changed let's see what happens. On to the Player's Championship and then the US Open

Certainly wasn't pulling for serge but the dude has definitely changed since the blowhard woe is me days of old. Happy for him to get that monkey off his back and boy did he hit some amazing shots in the clutch. That eagle was amazing on 15. The old Sergio would have folded like a cheap tent after 10-11 and the drive on 13.

You meant to say the old Sergio would have folded like every American within reach of the leaders did today.

Never been a Sergio fan either, but something about golf....It's always cool to see these veteran guys finally win one. Even if you don't love em it still makes you feel good for them. Especially at Augusta...the best major of all.
