The most concerning thing about this loss is how defeated Mark Pope seems

Goodman Interview

'I've never seen a coach more DISTRAUGHT

Two losses, even at Kentucky, have happened before. But this team seems completely disinterested, unable to run an offense or play defense. Worst of all, our coach has essentially admitted he does not know what to do and appears just as shocked and clueless as the fans. It is one thing for a fan to overreact and act like the season is over in November, but for the head coach to be the one who is down and out…

That was pretty cringe, honestly! It’s almost as if he knows he doesn’t have the personality skill set for this part of the job!

That wasn’t a guy who was bummed out by a loss in November, that was a guy who is smart enough to know when he’s a lame duck coach, whose time at his dream job is going to come to an end sooner rather than later, and he’s already starting the grieving process.

That blows my mind. How does a guy say he understood the assignment, but not be aware up front that he has to hold guys accountable, and scream if necessary to get their attention?

It’s one thing to have knowledge of something and another thing to do it. You can read books all week about transmissions and axels but if you can’t turn a wrench, you might not be the best auto mechanic. I hope Pope knows how to deal with these guys behind closed doors, but last night wasn’t hopeful

He’s gonna get 3 seasons here barring an absolute catastrophe whether we like it or not idk how you’re getting this. If he winds up getting fired it’s certainly not gonna be cuz he lost a couple games before thanksgiving

We all understand the assignment. Doesn't mean we should be the coach at UK.

I said it when he was hired. Pope was not hired due to his resume or coaching KSAs. You couldn't argue it then or now. His resume didn't earn an interview, much less the job.

I like Pope but I'm purely taking from a HR hiring practice. You dont hire a guy that's not proven until you exhaust other better options. Mitch didn't do that. Mitch is lazy.

He realizes he is screwed since Lowe is out and his whole offense this year was to be predicated on a penetrating point guard. It's certainly not Garrison playing with the ball at top of key, that **** is broken.

The defense he employs is horrible against ball screens, he'd be better off playing matchup zone.

Team is soft as Charmin.

Coach Pope needs to get the entire team focused on basketball.

Not the money, or the women or the drama which is being revealed to us....

Easier said, than done.
