Like how you waited a day, regrouped, then come back and say “we” were saying our government was allowing this to happen. This isn’t just twisting it, this is a gutless response.
I actually contended that in my last post so he’s not entirely wrong. Every admin is responsible for UACs once they’re handed over from DHS to DHHS until they can be placed with a vetted sponsor due to the Border Security Act of 2002 and Fed Child Trafficking Act of 2008. From 2021-2024 the system was overwhelmed due to record border crossings. Our country simply didn’t have enough judges and courts to keep up with the millions of people crossing our border illegally. Did the Biden admin know that children were being trafficked? How could they not? Migrant children had been trafficked for decades. The more there are, the more that will be trafficked. Some traffickers were prosecuted during the Biden era. They didn’t completely turn a blind eye, but the crisis was too damaging to foreground it politically.

The issue of trafficking shouldn’t be political. Yet Duck and Datt found what they think is a loophole. I guess if Tom Hanks had played Tim Ballard they wouldn’t complain. They are totally (and intentionally) missing the point. Both are too hung up on party politics. They may be educated, but they’re both stupid
He knows what he’s doing. Kind of. He dug himself a deep hole at the outset and instead of looking for a ladder he grabbed a shovel and took the gaslighting route.

You’re good at word salad. You may have not been as defiant on trafficking as the other two stooges, but you sure haven’t said “Yes, you guys are right, human trafficking is a serious, and horrific crime against children.” Instead, you asked for receipts, evidence, or whatever, then come back after regrouping, bring up some more garbage saying we were accusing this of being ‘formented’ by the government.
No one ever claimed that every UAC was being trafficked or abused. Adult farm workers aren’t UACs so they haven’t been the primary focus of this conversation. If they’re UACs working on farms, they’re likely being trafficked and exploited to some degree.

I don’t think Biden intended for children to be trafficked, but I think the rise in trafficking is a foreseeable consequence of his negligence at the border. Just as the rise of ICE detainee deaths the past 18 months is a direct, foreseeable result of Trump cutting medical funding to detention facilities at the same time the number of detainees surged.

Edit: I misspoke. This article describes the funding situation more clearly. I’m not normally in the habit of using Mother Jones as a source, but it’s consistent with what an investigation led by Sen Ossoff revealed. Bottom line is some of the detainees aren’t receiving needed medical care, and this has led to at least some of the 52 deaths in ICE custody the past 18 months. The payment freeze to specialists and outside providers began in October and is ongoing.

I might need to borrow @Mac9192 tinfoil hat, but I think he’s dead, and I think he’s been that way since the initial 911 call. They’re just hiding it until after August 3 because, under Kentucky election deadlines, the timing could affect how the vacancy is filled. Republicans aren’t in a position to let voters weigh in on anything right now with the mess Trump’s made. My guess is they’ll announce his death sometime around that date.
