"Speaking to The Post, Ahn said her excitement on landing a guest role on the popular NBC sitcom (then in its third season) deflated after she realized she was “just there to be the joke.”

who would have guessed that a very small role on a comedy show would be a joke? Was she expecting some deep dramatic role?

Ahn said the offensive “Office” joke bled into her real life, as a co-worker once attempted to draw on her arm with a sharpie as a callback to the episode.

Chuckle.

I feel like it's definitely something most Paddock users would do if they knew her lol.

Define irony: A story about an asian actress being upset that her character was marked so the other characters in the plot knew who she was.. while everyone in real life is trying to figure out which asian actor she was.

Tired of stuff being called “problematic”.

This also isn’t a controversy. It is clickbait **** to get two groups of people fired up. One actress had a problem and then they quoted something Pam and Angela said in a podcast.

**** journalism used to fire up the woke and the angry unwoke

I give her credit for not taking the role or the money. Oh that's right she still took the money and the role, but I'm the hypocrite for thinking it's funny.
If you took the money and the job, you don't have the right to come back years later and pronounce your wokeness. Get out of here with that ****.

Yet she took the role and the money. Color me stunned (or is that saying now offensive?).

Did she have lines and a script or was this improv? Obviously jumping on the woke bandwagon to get some attention

It's only racist if it involves African Americans. Nothing will come of this. It's OK to make fun of Asians, white people, and occasionally Hispanics. Native Americans are now off limits.

Michael: Okay, so dig this: you're on the street, and one of your gang disses you.
Darryl: Oh my goodness.
Michael: Yeah, right, so what do you do to get them to make it right?
Darryl: Well see, um... in the gang world, we use something called Fluffy Fingers.
Michael: What is that?
Darryl: That's when somebody really gets in your face, you know, you just... start tickling them.
Michael: Really?
Darryl: Yeah, and then he starts tickling you. You know, pretty soon you're laughing and hugging. Before you know it, you've forgotten the whole thing. Ya'll can just go to church together... get an ice cream cone.
Michael: I would've never thought that gangs would be tickling each other.
Darryl: Well, it's effective.

The sharpie thing was lightly racist. The two Asian girls didn't look anything alike. Might as well have just said all Asians look the same. But as someone else said, it had a lot of non-woke jokes, it was cringeworthy humor at its finest. Difference is the vast majority of it was done out of ignorance instead of someone being mean spirited.

That's absolutely one of my favorite episodes. When Michael's trying to decide which one is his girlfriend and Roy and Kevin are laughing..

I thought this would be about ping.

If this makes her feel any better I can't tell Kisbert from Timme half the time.

Micheal Scott was awkward, inept and totally lacked self-awareness. Nobody thought the two asian women looked remotely alike. That was the joke. He was so stupid he thought the two women looked alike.

Can't we all just get along a frickin' clue?
A sense of humor is lost on folks these days. Evidently the only person that is allowed to be made fun of these days by entertainers is Trump.

The entire show is predicated on the fact that Michael Scott is a complete idiot, has the sense of humor of a 12 year old, and has zero social awareness...yet he is still the boss. The over the top racist stuff by him on the show is meant to show him in an even worse light by highlighting his stupidity & complete lack of social awareness. Thought that was a given.

Anyone watching that show that thinks the racist stuff he says/does is actually glorifying racism is also an idiot.

At first I thought this was some kind of reference to Asian Jim. But nah, it's the Benihana waitress girls.

Is it really racist to say a lot of Asians look very similar? Because they do. It doesn't mean I discriminate against them, or think negatively of them. They just look alike.

All of Michael's HR moments especially the training were the highlights of the show. His loathing of Toby was priceless.

Jumped the gun here a bit. Open season on whites if they are Southern or fat.
