Not sure I follow? If we stopped giving money to our players, they would stay?? Counterintuitive for sure.
I agree. Should be super-easy to get all fans everywhere to agree not to give money. And I'm sure nobody would cheat and do it anyway to get an advantage.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't giving money directly to players a NCAA violation.
And before any one jumps the gun, the NIL is not the same thing.
Why? I could act as a company by paying a player money to wear a sticker or pass out my business card or any number of stupid promotions and call it pay for an advertising.
I would never in a million years contribute a penny to NIL, even I was the richest man in the world. I can't imagine anything less important.
If players want to get NIL through local companies or businesses, that's fine.
But there's a sucker born every minute, so I'm sure a lot of fans are clamoring to throw their hard-earned money into NIL.

I will say this: give money towards 1. NIL or 2. make donations to St Judes Childrens Hospital, Greenville, SC Childrens Shriners Hospital, Salvation Army, ASPCA, UNICEF ,Matthew 25:Ministries? Which will do the most good? I choose Door #2.

I can't imagine what kind of person with any self-respect would give money towards NIL.
