The OU women are 1-1 in the conference after their trip to Waco Sunday. They face TCU tonight on Fox Sports SWplus, which on my verizon in Plano is 577 and 77. When I saw how huge Baylor was, I was shocked the ladies hung around that long. TCU is better this year than they've been since they came into the conference.

Both teams are 10-3. TCU is 2-0 in the conference. The one common opponent has been A&M, who beat OU soundly in Oklahoma City. The Aggies beat TCU by four in College Station. So it ought to be a tight game.

Pretty sure the game is in Fort Worth.

Oh, and it tips at 6:00 Wed night.

The Sooners are lethargic. Maybe a little post Baylor something. But they really stink. Apparently TCU has played man defense all year and they're exclusively zone tonight. Williams on Sunday looked like she was in slow motion most of the game. Maybe Baylor is just that much more athletic. But she's been really poor tonight. We don't seem to have anybody who can penetrate their zone, and they're getting soooo outhustled on the defensive end that there is no transition.

Down right now 33-25. Manning in foul trouble. Their liakc of size is really hurting them. They are playing four guards most of the time, which can work. But the other teams the last two games were a lot quicker, despite being bigger. Not a good combination.

Were down double digits, got it down to six. Now 35-27.

Down 38-29 at the half. Of the 50-50 balls, OU is about one for five.

They ended up winning by 13. And I have to say as an OU fan, that OU got almost every call in the last 12 minutes of the game. They were down 14 midway to the third. I was incorrect about the halftime score. The tv graphic had it wrong. The Sooners were actually down six, 38-32. But it grew to I think 48-34 by halfway through the third. But they got a lot of breaks. And the depth was a big difference, especially after the Frogs had two foul out and a third who played with four fouls for a while.

I've been asking Sherri, through my occasional screaming at the TV, why McKenna Treece hasn't been playing more. Tonight, I don't think she had a minute in the first half, but she played a lot after halftime and made a huge difference. She gave them a second big, who could also step out and make a three. She is a solid shooter. Maybe a step slower on defense. But they are getting killed by size when they play four guards, especially if the trey isn't going in. But tonight, they could hardly get an open look from three without a hand in their face or on the ball and that was mostly against a TCU zone especially in the first half.

But I think they outscored TCU like 44 to 17 over the last 14 minutes of the game.

Treece needs to play more.

With a little more than two mins to go, OU had just done a 17-1 run. OU's fourth qtr. defensive changes seemed more than the Frogettes could bear.

Grandson is TCU soph majoring in political science. And no, I don't act like a Clemson fan when he visits.

Not saying she's as good yet because there's work to be done, but Treece's game reminds me a whole lot of Caton Hill & Joanna McFarland, & that ain't a bad thing. She's gonna be a good one before she's done.
