Three wrestlers won matches five different ways in a single NCAA tournament. First round "byes" when it was scored as a 64 man bracket are excluded.

Can you name them?

PIN
TF or Superior DEC (old school)?
WBMD
DEC
INJ DEF?

Assuming those are the 5 different ways they won? This is crazy impossible if BYES aren't included!

I was thinking disqualification by stalls could be one of the possible ways

While DQ is a possibility there have only ever been 28 of those and none were a part of a mixed bag of five.

It was done three different ways by the three different wrestlers.

One had a DEC, MD, TF, PF Inj DFT.
One had a DEC, MD, TF, PF, BYE (due to opponent missing weight - OK, I played fast and loose here, so sue me).
But my favorite did it with what I like to call a natural. All matches were contested. He had DEC, MD, SD, TF, and PF.

The SD (superior decision) should date it for you as the combo of SD and TF was only possible for four years.

What were the criteria for SD vs TF? Before my time

Prior to 1972 the only bonus was for pinfalls. In 1972 they added Superior Decision for wins by 10+ points. In 1976 they raised SD to 12+ and added in Major Decision for wins by 8-11. Then in 1985 they added tech falls for wins by 15+. Finally, in 1988 they eliminated the SD.
I thought the SD ended in the early 80s...
