I know this, if we shoot 15 or 20% from three, Bama will run this team off of the court. If we make our shots and Lowe can stay in the game, maybe we can make it a toss up late. Even with a size advantage on paper, this Bama team can score in bunches. You have to be able to counter-punch to hang with them.

To suggest the Alabama game iwill be some season-altering event is nonsense.

It'll probably be several games before we see what a line-up of Lowe, Oweh, WIlliams, Dioubate and Quaintance, with Aberdeen and an improving Moreno, and Johnson contributing, will be capable of -- assuming it can stay healthy. Obviously, every loss has an impact on seeding. But it is certainly possible this team will jell later when the full lineup gets in rhythm.

It's going to take patience to see what this team can become. I won't feel it has no chance to make some big noise in March until we see what it is capable of with all cylinders firing a few times. But this season could easily go the way of 2014 - a team muddles along to a mediocre seed, finally comes together and is tough to beat.

The REAL season began in November lol.

It's not as if these games have any more significance on seeding than the games we've already played.

Allso this game is @ Bama. We are the underdog. It's more likely we lose than win. Regardless this one game won't define a season.

I actually like opening the SEC schedule with this one.

Your essentially playing with house money here. No one is going undefeated in SEC or remotely close. A loss doesn't kill you. But a win is a massive boost to the resume and seeding.

The team has had time to rest and get healthy, additional time to gel with JQ in the lineup, and Pope's "wake up call" narrative around the Gonzaga game all suggest UK wins this game if UK is a real contender this year.

Season started 2 months ago. This game isn't close to a must win.

Even pre season when people had more pie n the sky expectations for this team Manu penciled this n as a likely loss.

it's not a must-win, but it's a must-compete. Must keep it relatively, non-embarrassingly close.

if they go out and get shellacked like vs MSU or Gonzaga, then this isn't a serious team and all the "we've turned it around after Gonzaga" narrative, and any positive momentum, goes out the window.
