They went all of the way to small town Australian local tv to find a kook. And then amplified them. And then you amplified it again.

It's odd the amount of people here who claim to not watch Fox or Tucker, but then countless Fox articles will get linked and a few times a year some random Tucker clip will be included in a thread.
As chroix stated, they found a nut and broadcasted her nutty views to a national audience. That's a Tucker thing. His crew searches for a complete nut who doesn't realize they're nuts and then Tucker looks like an every man. Stern used to have the same schtick. I remember when he had on the God Hates Fa-- nuts. That interview sorta made that family famous for a while.

The westboro Baptist church went to peoples, including soldiers funerals, and protested. That’s what brought them the attention they desperately wanted.
That was crazy too. Had a lot of people thinking most Christians were like those loons.
While most media on both sides find the craziest of the crazies to interview for this stuff, we are in an odd position for society. Efforts in the past to move away from the demonization of mental illness has spiraled into normalizing and even celebrating it at times.
Yes, I realize that. But them getting an extended interview on Stern brought them even more attention, which lead to them traveling across the country to even more funerals. A lot of people wouldn't know that tiny "church" existed, if not for a long sit down interview on an extremely popular radio show. Thankfully, that group was so hateful and so out there, that once the dad died, they faded into obscurity.
Live in KC so have been aware of Fred Phelps and Westbrook for years. Most of the church was his family and they are POS. Evidently they funded a lot of their church by suing communities that didn’t let them protest. Bush Jr and a Obama both helped get legislation passed which establishes perimeters for protests near funerals. On a side note, just learned that Phelps spent a lot of his early career dealing with civil rights cases. Didn’t know that

You don't have to really search for complete nuts anymore. The US & especially Washington DC, is full of them.
OK, sure, Tucker Carlson has pathetically tried to rationalized child marriage, said that he'd release an infamous convicted child molester because his only real crime was having "a different lifestyle that people find creepy", and said that he'd like to watch 14-year-olds make out, but I still don't see any need to single him out with his very own thread. This could've just as easily gone into the "Outrage!" thread.

I simply ran across this video while surfing Youtube and posted because I thought it was entertaining. for those that foolishly believe their political views matter (clearly the reason for the butt hurt responses), well that's more comical than this video...
