The truly frightening thing about this game is this

I know it's just one game, but Robinson didn't impress me at all. He looked overmatched physically. However, Oweh and Butler are two tough, physical guards who will keep us in a LOT of games.
I’m gonna give Jax a pass right now. We all know he should be better. But Jax, let’s not do that again!

Robinson was a disappointment, but other than lack of scoring, I thought he was still helping the team.
He needs to become assertive and rebound more.

UK just beat #6 Duke on a neutral floor and one of our best scorers, Robinson, tallied 1 pt. He came in avg double digits.

Let that sink in.

And the Cats did not play that great in the first half. I thought in the first half they got caught up in the hype a bit, got out of their offense, turned the ball over on some silly plays giving Duke too many easy lay ups. But what ever Pope did in the second half worked. That defense was pretty damn good and they played more within the team structure in the second half.

We can play a lot better than we did last night IMO. Butler missed a ton of bunnies and Robinson obviously can do better. Williams missed a bunch inside as well. Last night was not our ceiling but a glimpse at how high it might actually be.

Our whole offense looked out of place it will get better quit doing your calipari version of throwing a player under the bus spacing was a issue last night and our players did not adjust well this time with the athleticism of Duke great teaching experience for coach Pope

I think he kind of got shell shocked. I like how Pope just didn't keep him out there just because. The bigs let the young pups know that it ain't going to be easy.

Not sure how you got that I in any way threw anyone under the bus. But man, that’s one helluva sentence you have right there! In other words, WTF are you even talking about?

This UK team has had very little time playing together. By March this team will be a well oiled machine playing for a coach that lets his players play loose & free. I had almost forgotten how fun that UK basketball used to be. Thank you John Calipari for leaving here.

Don't forget we only attempted 25 3 pointers and scored in the 70's both of which are way below what Pope would prefer. So we played a tempo and style contrary to what we prefer, our best player had 1 point and to be honest I don't think we even played that well and still beat the #6 team in the country that according to ESPN had a 70+% chance of winning.

With all due respect, Jaxson may not be the best player on this team!

Don't leave out that Robinson played very good D, had several deflections that lead to breakouts.

His O was terribly off, but he didn't let it affect his D at all.

He was a presence on defense. Lotta deflections and active hands. That was good to see. Shot wasn’t falling but he was fully engaged and you’re right, he was still helping the team out there.

Is it a possibility that Duke’s plan was to key in on Robinson? Get him out of his game and see how the rest of the team reacts? Just tossing that out there.

Yeah, Robinson had a bad game, no doubt. But I'm not gonna throw him under the bus just yet. There is no question Duke was focusing much of their defensive effort on keeping him from getting going. And let's be honest, this Duke team can play defense. They were hedging him on screens and overplaying him all over the floor. It's clear to me, their entire defensive gameplan was focused on him. And since he was drawing so much attention, other guys were able to get shots. And he will be fine. Any team that doesn't focus on him will likely get burned by him.

I am very excited about the upside of the team. Guys played great and Pope coached a great game, made better by having vets who could actually translate his instructions into action.

We have not gelled completely and the offense looks dangerous, even against the best teams, especially when we are cutting and moving so well.

Duke ran into the freshman wall, Flagg and K-nip disappeared as the fatigue set in and then you had half their team hurt or cramping. That isn't an excuse for Duke, just a credit to our experience and veterans. Duke will have to work on conditioning and finding guard play, we will have to figure out our best lineups (I don't think we can platoon against top teams, Chandler and Almonor too limited), and continue to grow as a team.

Apparently there are comprehension issues. You need to go back and read who wrote what. You’re either confused, drunk or something else. But what you quoted was not what I wrote.

I believe Robinson's biggest obstacle is his ball handling skills. He could drive on defenders and create more space for his shot. He does have a quick release.Just my two cents.
