I'm curious to see if the voter attitiude is, "well, they made the CFP, so they're in the top 12 regardless of outcomes" and don't leapfrog anyone outside over them in the final polls.Clemson lost, Indiana and SMU lost. Tennessee is getting demolished. If we can win our bowl, we have a great shot at finishing in the Top 10 for the first time since SOS got us there. That would be huge, imho, for recruiting and maybe in next season's pre-season polls.
Yeah, I'm betting there will be a lot of "face-saving" in the final polls.I'm curious to see if the voter attitiude is, "well, they made the CFP, so they're in the top 12 regardless of outcomes" and don't leapfrog anyone outside over them in the final polls.
Since the conferences have become so bloated with members, conference records are becoming an increasingly irrelevant method of determining a conference champion because the schedule difficulty varies enormously within the conference. They really need to re-think this approach... but I suspect it's intentional, to a large degree, to allow for favoritism toward the cash-cow "brands".Another team that played a weaker schedule. Only two quality SEC teams on their schedule. Beat Bama at home and lost to UGA. Out of conference power 5 opponent was the might NCSU. Bad loss to Arkansas. We could have easily gone 10-2 wwith that schedule. They never had to play two tough games in a row, They even had four SEC home games in a row.
Within conference the SEC needs to redo the schedule every year taking into account the previous years results. It really is not that important to play a home/away.
Does that post take the sting off of your loss any?I guess they don't belong? That's what the Gamecocks say about anyone that loses in the playoffs. You better run and get yiu a Texas shirt. I mean the Bama stuff you own doesn't really help you this season. Silly coots always watching the dance on TV. Never get to go so sad.....![]()
The SEC needs to win the national championship with one of the two remaining teams, which I consider no better than a 35% chance. Then the SEC needs to win more than it loses to the B1G in the other bowls. Otherwise, the B1G will have asserted supremacy after already winning the National Championship last year. It's a very unappetizing prospect.TN is embarrassing the SEC right now. Over rated as usual
Very well thought out all the way around.Another team that played a weaker schedule. Only two quality SEC teams on their schedule. Beat Bama at home and lost to UGA. Not possible as long as LSU exists. And I'm good with it. Worst fans in college football!
Georgia, by far, not even close.. Treated great by LSU while in Omaha. Great food and drink, fun had by all.Not possible as long as LSU exists.
Clemson is 0-3 versus the SEC and not even the best team in South Carolina. LOL.I guess they don't belong? That's what the Gamecocks say about anyone that loses in the playoffs. Taken to the proverbial woodshed, if you will.
Who cares if you’re 10, 12. , or 15?Can we pass UT in the polls if we win our bowl? Or is the current separation too far?
Actually not.And just like Clemtec, they have to live with until next Sept.![]()
And Notre Dame and Michigan and Ohio State. Condescending at its highest form. Not possible as long as LSU exists.
Arrogance from mainly inconsequential people who attach themselves to winners like ticks. And Notre Dame and Michigan and Ohio State. Condescending at its highest form.
Tennessee fans are the most annoying fans I've ever encountered home or away, but they aren't the rudest or meanest. Penn State fans are the rudest in their home stadium I have ever encountered, hands down. LSU fans are right behind them, but there is at least some comedic aspects to their buffoonery that mitigates the negative experience. I agree with you about OSU and Michigan fans being the most condescending. I don't know much about Notre Dame fans since the vast majority of ND "fans" I've encountered have never stepped foot on that campus. And Notre Dame and Michigan and Ohio State. Condescending at its highest form.
You know Ohio State was favored in that game?New synonym for "Clemsoning" is "Volunteering"!
