I never cease to be amazed at the stupid stuff tourists do out here when they visit Yellowstone. I have personally witnessed countless tourists edge oh-so-much-closer to wild bison in an effort to get a better photo. I've never seen anyone get gored in person, but I did see one lady come very close a few years back when a bison made a short mock charge at her while thrashing his head around, missing her by inches. He didn't pursue her, but it's safe to say she got the message.

They also routinely ignore the signs in thermal areas to stay on the boardwalks. It's hard to imagine a worse way to die than being boiled to death, but that's exactly what has happened numerous times in the park's history. Just a couple of years ago, a woman was burned over a significant part of her body while trying to rescue her dog which had fallen into one of the thermal pools (a scene that would have been prevented had she heeded the many signs in the park warning that dogs are not allowed on trails or boardwalks). Nature is unforgiving.
