No need to remake the original. Hollywood just regurgitates the same thing every year. Can they not come up with an original movie anymore?
I can't argue that that theaters are over-bogged with remakes, sequels, and comic book movies, but it's not all bleak. Infinity Pool, Cocaine Bear, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, and Oppenheimer all sound cool, as does Super Mario Bros. which I don't consider a remake since the 1993 movie barely resembles the games at all. And Roosevelt, True Love, Rebel Moon, and The Killer might be great too.
There are still great movies being made. That’s not the problem. The best movie last year was arguably Everywhere All at Once.
The problem is that the big movie making companies like Disney, Warner Bros etc make your local movieplex agree to show their movies on a set number of screens for a set period of time to show their films. So a lot of movies don’t get a widespread release because there’s no room for them.
And I say that as someone who really enjoys Marvel movies.

Heard about this a while back. If you haven’t figured out by now that at least 75% of previous content will eventually be redone, you haven’t been paying attention. Absolute classics might not be touched but nearly everything else will be because society craves content and streamers + theaters need exactly that.
Doesn’t matter if no one asked for ‘Jump’ to be remade. The previous version, while great, will bring in no more money. A remake with newer, younger entertainers will, even if it’s $5mil. That’s $5mil that the original won’t bring in in 2023.

Should not touch this. Rosie Perez cannot be matched. Her character, especially on Jeopardy, is my favorite part of the movie. I wish Hollywood would write new scripts. The clips are boring and I cannot imagine they could match the chemistry of the original. Please tell me this is a joke.
