We all thought that was funny. The "hate" towards him is more myth than fact. He even came to Rupp for a charity game a few years ago. He was given a standing ovation for being a good sport. Every UK fan I know likes the guy. The "I still hate laettner" shirts(i own one), is far more a joke than actual hate.

It is mostly because Christian the villain role with very good humor. Most UK fans I know appreciate him now (like when he did the Charity game and cleaned the UK logo/made his own t-shirts, etc.).

BUT - there is still a seething inside - especially for fans back in the day.
