Not including mitch... Mark Pope has 0 recruits and has not shown to be good at evaluating/acquiring talent, most of the roster has the ability to come back... if the results are even half as bad as they are this year he will(should) be fired, so bringing him in for a guaranteed 3rd year makes no sense. You have to show something to get another year, something that will give people optimism and he has shown none of that. It makes zero sense to give him another year given the circumstances.

UK can afford a $21M buy-out. You have to win NOW in this era. You can turn it all around overnight, why waste a whole season?
Pope should help UK out with the buyout all things considered... I'm sure UK can get it cut in half or spread out over multiple years.
Pearl is available now. If it were up to me I make the calls now and see if he’s interested. Get him in here mid season to get a head start on next season if he’s really interested.
Pope is just not a good teacher of the game. The red flags were there last season.
That $21 million dollar figure on this roster just proves the money is there. I don't want to hear anyone's bull **** about not being able to afford to fire a coach when the funds can come up to piss $21 million down the drain on these million dollar scrubs and throw out that horseshit NIL deal Calzada got.
You may or may not be serious but no…..no employee in his right mind would “help with the buyout.” Former player or not, this is his livelihood and family’s future. Kentucky can handle the buyout. Barnhart needs to pay for it.
