Think about this...Duke thought they would have Jordan Tucker(3 point marksman that transferred mid season last year, Frank Jackson (explosive great shooting guard that did great at Nba combine and left after 1 year), Gary Trent(best shooter on last year's team that was nowhere near ready), and potentially a Sr Luke Kennard(that exploded his soph year and somehow left 2 yrs early cause nba scouts put him up in the lottery).

Our fatal flaw was shooting (3 pt and ft), and K had that many phenomenal shooters that we're supposed to still be here...that's just the ones that still should've been on THIS years team.

He simply can't win in this day and age

I highly doubt they thought they would still have Jackson, Or Kennard. The Tucker call may be correct, also the Trent Jr. The other 2 would have been gone by now.

Sick of the “K can’t win” or “K can’t coach” crap. It’s littered all over the board as if the last time we hung a banner was Laettner’s playing days. If you enjoy that irrational thought process, this forum should will provide you plenty of happiness this morning.

I understand being upset about losing yesterday, I’m upset too. It sucks. Reality is that it’s not the first time we’ve lost as a heavy contender and unfortunately it won’t be the last. Single-elimination format is the reason why the best team rarely wins it all. Anything can happen. I think we’re frickin’ blessed to have won 2 banners in this current decade.

Seems like everyone is letting their emotions make them irrational.

Amen, as you say it sucks, but it was only 4 years ago we hung a banner and I still believe K will hang another before he retires. As for the Debbie Downers, the fair weather Duke fans, I just try to let ''em vent and know they will hop on board the train again at some point....

I don’t think K/Duke expected to have Frank Jackson or Luke Kennard or Gary Trent this year..

I do think a Soph. Gary Trent would have been a big improvement over Cam though.. nothing against Cam, but he didn’t mesh well being the 3rd option.. Gary would have did great in that role.

Maybe not a good idea to post the phone numbers of admin people on a website visited by numerous rival fans, many of whom are unstable individuals. I realize it’s publicly available on another website, but rival fans aren’t visiting that site. Just a thought...

Most of them aren’t smart enough to come up with the idea themselves, but when handed the info they think they just came up with a brilliant plan. See: Higgins. One person posted his info on RR and a few days later Higgins is giving statements to police about death threats. Not saying that’s what would happen here, but better safe than sorry.

I get what you’re saying, I just didn’t really look at it like that when I posted it. Went ahead and deleted it.

the early or unexpected leaving of players is due to the level of exposure of the program. If Kennard or Jackson played at Iowa St or Butler say, then they wouldnt have had the number of national games on TV and scouts at games etc...so when they performed above expectations they rose in draft rankings. Fortunately or unfortunately, our programs high profile has its postivies and negatives...we get great recruits who want the limelight...but it also allows others to shine and go earlier than anticipated.
