This game is definitely going to test the defense, especially the secondary.

This game will show us what we've got
My hope is that the first three games have been as boring to a lot of the players as they have been to most of the fans, and they’ll raise their performance commensurately.

If we see the same lackadaisical effort on offense like in the last two games, and the qb acts immaturely and doesn’t lead, then a loss is likely. If they don’t do those things, then there’s no reason why they can’t win this game. Probably two thirds of PSU’s starters just played this team ten months ago, so they should know what they need to do.

I was impressed with Indiana’s QB.
I watched him play several games last season for Cal and he was inconsistent; he was bad against FSU, pretty good against Miami, and mediocre against Pitt. His performance this season just tells you what a good coach Cignetti is.

No way… I have been told for months that PSU only plays 2 tough teams… Oregon and OSU… and that if they don’t beat both it is CJF’s fault!

I was impressed with Indiana’s QB.
I was at the OLE MISS vs. Tulane game yesterday @ Ole Miss. Their backup QB Trinidad Chambliss is very impressive. Fast, quick, elusive. strong arm, wasn't wasting time in the pocket. Threw a beautiful long bomb to former PSU WR Harrison Wallace III, who had two-three steps on the DB, dropped beautifully into his hands and Wallace dropped it. He also had another drop on a sideline pass. Rough first half for him.
Not sure the starting Ole Miss QB (Simmons) is gonna get his job back.

One other mention. It was brutally hot (mid 90s almost no breeze, no cloud cover). We left stadium mid 3rd quarter.
Nice stadium, great site lines, entry went pretty quick. Not huge like PSU. Fans very supportive of their team.
Same music problem as PSU with the loud headbanger music before every play and during time outs. Hard to have a conversation. Another reason I prefer the at home viewing experience.

"The Grove" tailgating was really impressive. Organized set up with actual street names and walking paths.
I will henceforth refer to it as the "Grove Gala" because of so many young girls & women wearing fancy dresses and the first year Frat boys wearing Chenos, blue blazer, white shirt, and tie through tailgating and in the stadium - torture.

Sounds fun minus the frat bros.

That’s fair, however he’s been on 2026 QB draft lists since before the season started, so maybe he was in a bad system at Cal and the scouts could see his talent, despite that?

He’s a great coach, no doubt, but he’s no spring chicken. This may be his last stop.
What he did at JMU and what he is doing at IU is amazing. I thought that IU would take a step back from last season, but this team actually may be better. However, they need to show that they can beat a Big 10 team with a pulse on the road; they’ll have that chance this upcoming weekend.

Need to remember this is a big game, but it doesn’t secure a playoff berth let alone a bye. It also doesn’t eliminate anyone. However, I believe both teams will make the playoffs barring a complete collapse. It will be a contrast in styles. PS will grind the entire game, rely on D and special teams. JoePa used to say win 2/3 and you win the game. A ball control game is their best chance. A game with scores in the 20s favors PS. A game in the 40s favors the Ducks. Ducks will try to win on explosives. Don’t see them grinding with PS. Withstand the storm and wear them down.
