I was afraid to click on the thread, being old I was afraid you were doing something crazy!
I remember how their disgusting fans would throw oranges onto the court in the old Stokely Athletic center when coach Rupp would take his team in there. What a miserable fan base.
In my fraternity house, we put "Nothing Sucks Like a Big Orange" stickers on all our urinals. So, we all got to piss on those bastards every day. Ahhh, sweet memories.

I remember when Tennessee sent Ernie Grunfeld to the free throw line when it was supposed to be King, and they got away with it and won the game, they have always been snitches and cheaters. The hate has always been there when these two teams play. I also remember when someone threw a lit cigarette in Bernard Kings hair when they played in Lexington in 1975.
Tennessee and Ohio State are the teams I dis like the most. GREAT WIN !!
I stopped eating oranges back in 2009 because of their association with Tennessee. Dealing with scurvy isn’t fun, but it’s absolutely worth it.
I make sure to SQUEEZE my oranges before consuming them now. That was my solution. I'm glad they SQUEEZED a little bit more last night !

One of my co-workers is a huge UT fan. I greeted him with a great big smile this morning walking into the office. He just shook his head and said, “Yep, you got us again.” It was a great feeling!
I remember being in memorial and Tennessee brought in a person on a unicycle and our fans started beaming him with oranges
also you remember when they would announce opposing teams starting five all the fans would bring a newspaper out and appear to be reading it man I miss memorial the atmosphere was second to none
This is going over my head. Scurvy? I've heard of it, and without looking it up I'm not quite sure what it is. Is that when you eat too much of one type of food?
Not sure if you are joking but it is caused by a lack of vitamin C. In the old days sailors would get scurvy from lack of fruit on long trips.
Huge issue during the war between the states too scurvy and dysentery too .

, thank you for the info.A loonnng time ago I read a book I think called Andersonville. It is about a big prison in South Georgia. I think a lot of those guys got scurvy! It sounded like a bad place to be held.
I remember the barrage of oranges thrown in Memorial Coliseum at the unicycle when UT and Ray Myers had those putrid orange and white candy-striped uniforms
