this is my dream come true . UF probably won't even make the NIT as they are about to be 10-9 if they lose this game at Ole miss . They are only down 4 but man do they suck . I can not believe how untalented they are . finney-smith is the only guy who i could ever see maybe , maybe playing pro . And the next mock draft i see where Chris Walker is listed anywhere period i am never looking at again . he is one of the worst college basketball players i have ever seen .

I would love to hear from some of those UF fans who kept coming here last year and saying they were the class of the sec.

They used to run their mouth over here but that ended when Cal arrived to coincide with their decline in football as well .

Can you imagine the hell that UK/Cal would be catching in the media if we had a similar record? I realize they lost talent, but it happens here every year and that doesn't stop the media from bashing us. It just confirms what we all ready know....the media protects certain coaches and programs!

He before we totally crow like never been there roosters, 3 years ago we got bounced out of the first round of the NIT, a bad year can happen. Even to Cal.

^ three years ago we were on a six game wining streak and beating Florida on their home court when Noel went down on a team that had no depth. Big difference to what is going on with the Gators.

Our best player got hurt at Florida which led to the NIT birth , that's not Cals fault . Crow harder

I think you might be missing the point ,UF will struggle to make the NIT and if UK ever ever went 10-9 like UF is Cal would be hung .

I'm sorry mashballs and ky......I forgot which FLORIDA top 5 pick went down with a season ending knee injury. And you do realize this isn't a "one time thing" with Donovan. He's been to numerous NIT's at Florida.

I agree with cane I love seeing this.

I don't hate on UF as much as other teams (UL, Duke, etc.) but with the way that some of their fans came over here before the season started and raved how UF would keep up with UK this year, I find it amusing how it's turning out. Let the fans of UF eat crow...or whatever else!

Not to nitpick, but we were not beating Florida when Noel went down.

we were ranked #24 going to florida game.

We weren't a NIT team.

When Nerlens went down, we struggled afterwards and our NCAA bit was lost due to our performance after Nerlens Injury.

One things for sure. Watching that game tonight I found a new favorite Gator to hate. I didn't like him when I saw his last name was Murphy. Then when they said Duke transfer that added to the puzzle. When he whined and cried to the refs after every physical play even continuing to pretend to be in agony on the other end of the floor like Chris Jones it was a lock.

Ok now I know what I was thinking. We were ranked #24 when Nerlens went down.

Far, FAR, from an NIT team.

Florida was going to win that game in Gainesville. However, Kentucky was much worse after losing Noel (Tennessee....yikes). Furthermore, Kentucky had no players who had started a single college game. Florida has Finney-Smith and Frazier who both started games in college. Florida lost a bunch, but they didn't lose as much as Kentucky did going into 2013. Kentucky was tourney bound until they lost Noel. Florida might have a losing record minus Finney-Smith.

We're trending that way, but think of Noel doesn't go down and we had the same record probably get in. Went 12-6 in conference and beat UF. The conference rpi that year killed us.

Big difference is, all the guys Florida lost from last year were seniors so Donovan knew they would be gone so the lack of recruiting falls on him.

Cal thought he would get Teague back, and maybe even Lamb and MKG. The title run and Teague having a great tournament run changed all that and it was too late to find quality players to replace them, thus having to grab a Julius Mays.

BD tends to over recruit finesse players. This is just a weak roster. Walker was a huge miss.

I'll just say that I'm really enjoying the silence (absence) from the smart-*** Gator posters from last year. Just like we said, they'd be back to irrelevance and then would shut the hell up and disappear once they had a bad (or down) season. They proved us all right.

If not, why haven't they been around these parts taking their medicine this year? Cowards.

You better believe our guys are going to be focused and dialed in every time they play UF this year after the 3 game sweep last year.

Florida was a preseason top 10 team too. To be fair they did lose a guy in the preseason that they were expecting to play major minutes this season. But they've still got tons of talent on that roster. Donovan needs shooters to put points on the board though and outside of Frazier they've got no one that can hit consistently from outside of 5 feet.

I argued with Florida fans on the main board all off season that they would take a step back this year. Didn't think they would be NIT bad.

With the type of talent they have they could still get hot in time to make the tournament but their remaining schedule is pretty rough. @Kentucky, @A&M who has been hot of late, @Bama this Tuesday, @LSU, @Vandy and home games against Arkansas and UK.

They still have to play Ole Miss again as well.

So out of the 12 games left only 4 look like safe bets at the moment. I give them zero chance against us in either game and then 6 toss ups. I think they lose @Vandy and LSU as well.

They probably need to go 10-2 to guarantee a spot. Anything less and they'll need a good SEC tourney showing because they have only 1 top 50 win.

I remember the bolded part. Hell Florida would be far better this year than UK. The one of them stated, and stood by the comment, that UK did not have a single player that would start at Florida!

UF used to be my second favored team in the SEC; however, based on the Florida fans the last 8 years it is really hard not to hate them. They may get their due this year. I would love to see them miss the NIT. If UF goes 10-2 they would end up being 20-11. I would say that based on how bad the NCAA treated UK two years ago that will not get it, unless those two wins are against UK.

I just thank God UK failed to get Billy D.

I wont be hard on you because that seems to be the common theme from college basketball fans in general but I couldn't disagree more.

What they have is a bunch of guys who are/were (a) overrated and (b) never had to really shine last season for their team to succeed. Hill and Frazier and DFS could come in last year and give them some spot minutes while the seniors still dominated on the defensive end. It was so easy to hide their shortcomings because of that D. But face it, even last years FF team was not that sound offensively, and now without 4 of their top 5 offensive players from last year they can't make a damn layup half the time.

Guess I'm just not seeing this talent that people talk about. The fact that they were rated well coming out of HS means nothing.
