I've always loved this guy's name. I defy anyone to find a more stereotypical southern name than Jim Bob Cooter. Don't even bother offering suggestions. It sounds like a name for a fake character Chevy Chase would have used in the Fletch movies. To his credit, he seems to have embraced it. I imagine he might have decided to drop the Bob and go by his given James Cooter at least. But Cooter as a last name is the icing on the cake. It wouldn’t be nearly as great if it was a given name or a nickname. But it’s the last name. Nothing you can do about it.

I loved him on the "The Dukes of Hazzard" ;)

I grew up with a number of guys who went by Billy Joe, or some other kind of southern hick name, but ad they grew up and went to high school and college and professional careers yhey would go by the more formal William or something like that. But Jim Bob stuck with it.

I applaud it.
