I rarely start threads or even post for that matter, but this is a defining game for this team. A win tomorrow means we have arrived as a contender in the SEC East. It is absolutely huge for this program going forward.

I've been going to these games for a long time and it feels way different than even the LSU game a few years ago. 5 SEC wins is a big deal..

To put this game in perspective, it's been 40 years since we've finished above .500 in the SEC!! Let that sink in for a minute.

So OP, you are EXACTLY RIGHT!!! This is definitely the biggest game for UK Football in 40 years!! We can jump into the top of the SEC East with a win tomorrow.

I'm not even thinking about the UT game, have to win this one!! Coach Stoops can earn that, crazy at the time, extension with a win over the Dawgs.

We need Commonwealth Stadium FULL tomorrow night!!

Too much is being put into this one game by the fans , it's a recipe for disaster by not relying on a whole seasons body of work to tell you the state of the program . Remember Southern Miss ? The majority put most of their eggs in that basket and melted down when the win got away but it didn't tell us the whole story because here we are in a place most never thought we'd be .

It's a big game for sure but we shouldn't repeatedly make the same errors as fans , we could lose this one and win out . But if you build it up too much then many will overreact if we lose . Besides , we've already arrived by beating the teams we should and that's the maturation process at work .

yep thing is,, it looks like it's gonna happen in due time(2017) win or lose tomorrow.

Ummmmm why does it "look" like 2017 and not 2016?
Are you saying that UK looks to lose at UT or UF looks to win at Arkansas?
Please clarify because honestly it "looks" like UK will win at home v an avg. UGA squad and it "looks" like UF will drop one at LSU.
UK has a legit shot tonight at their 5th SEC win...something they haven't done in 39 yrs.
I'm personally sick and tired of "wait til next yr." talk.

We're playing Uga to show who's at least the 9th best team in the SEC. We've beaten the 4 worst, so we've demonstrated 10th - a notable step forward from continually 13th/14th. Uga is the next worst. Should we also beat TN, then we're 8th or maybe one could argue 7th assuming AR continues to lose. Doubt anyone will consider us 6th at year's end.

If we beat UGA and UT we would be 6-2 in the SEC.
To say we would only be the 7th best team would take a lot of breaking down of those 6 other teams schedules and results.
Have you done that?

Half full ,half empty view!
Mine is we are ahead of where we have been,at this time of the season!

Agree a bit. Great vibe right now and who doesn't like that. At the same time, we could easily have won 6 games the last two seasons and another SEC win is needed to say we have made real progress this year (in the W-L overall). I give us no shot against UL, well maybe not NO, but realistically a very slim one at best.

I understand what you're saying. It's hard to believe a team that finished 1st or 2nd in the east is 7th. But let's take a quick look.

Bama, Texas AM, LSU are 3 easy ones as of now. UF embarrassed us(although we aren't the same team now) so it would be hard to argue otherwise.....that's 4. And then you have Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas. It's not unfathomable that all 3 are better via the eye test.

I'll take Ole Miss out due to their record (even though someone has to lose when a division is so strong). Auburn is looking really good as of now. And if Arkansas does our dirty work and beats UF then the case can be made that we are behind 5 west teams and 1 east team.

Best case imo is being behind 4 west teams and 1 east. If we beat UofL as well then maybe the case can be made for 2-3 west teams and 1 east.

A lot is left to be determined. But best case is 4th and worse is 8th.

Edit: in reference to that last statement. UTAM is down 14-0 to MSU. Could definitely shake the overall standings up.

This game has big time implications for our future ceiling as a program...I'm nervous as hell today. We HAVE to win today....we just HAVE to!
