Pride. Not the kind of 'we are better than you' arrogance, but just pride.

You know why we think all these refs are inept or crooked? It's the same thing when it's YOUR kid playing in high school or little league...it hurts you when they get a call against them or get bullied around. In a crazy way we have kind of adopted this crew of broken transfers like they were 4 year guys at Kentucky.

I've been missing that. I kinda felt we were a minor league G team just waiting for the call up to the majors. This year hasn't felt like that feels like old time college sports.

Exactly. That's what I'd said for years. The coach and players weren't truly playing for KY and winning college basketball wasn't their ultimate goal. I just needed a coach and team that 100% WANTED to win and gave effort toward that goal. I've been ecstatic this entire year (outside of being disappointed with the unfortunate injuries).

Ball players want to win, it’s why you play competitively. So it’s hard to imagine how a coach can turn a program into a place where that type of pride and desire is no longer at the forefront of player’s minds. But shew, Cal sure figured it out.
