but thinking out of the box. Hire a woman on staff for recruiting and support for players. There are so many kids that have grown up in single mom environment, how about giving moms someone they can feel comfortable with and communicate with. just looking to be different

Which is why half of them act the way they do.

They need a male role model they haven't had at home.

All that means is they are used to having a woman take care of them. Not learning how to take care of a woman.

How is this out of the box? The SEC has been hiring women for a long time. What am I missing?

Well I don't think he means hiring a recruits mother to some high-paying, "Special-vice-deputy-associate assistant to the football office" position or some good-looking co-ed to be an "official host" for recruits on visits.... I may be wrong, but I think he means like a real, legitimate position.

The NU Ath. Dept. doesn't know that females exist yet? Man, we are behind the times! I'll have to ask my friends who were hosts for the Ath Dept if they are elaborate machinations of my mind...

That sounds good to me. I'd rather have a woman take care of me than the other way around.

I believe Nebraska had a woman as director of football operations back in the 1990's, early 2000's. Pat can't remember her last name.
Maybe I'm off base.

The woman who lives on the next farm over from me is a 75 year old ***** from hell. I like her though because she doesn't take **** from anyone and still loads hay and shovels out stalls on her own.
She had 8 kids of her own and they all hate her in a loving way. If that makes sense.
I am sure she would take the job. Believe me.... Nate Gerry, if he valued his nads, would have gone to class with her as Husker den mother.

Yes, definitely a big boy move! Ha
I consider her a very good friend, but one day I pulled up into her driveway with my John Deere tractor to pick up some hay I was buying from her and she came outside with her 20 gauge, shot it in the air to get my attention, and then told me I had come up the "wrong f$cking driveway for hay".
But then, when we were done, she and I had cigars. I am not making this up... I am telling you she would be perfect.

I have always thought this was a good idea and have wanted my husband to get a job at a college where we could be "quasi parents" for students in need. While it may be beneficial for football players, it could help with a great number of students who need some maternal care.
