FCPS Board Meeting 5:30 Feb 28 - this coming Monday. Public is welcome to attend. Time to Let Our Kids Smile and remove the masks.

I appreciate the vigor but unfortunately I can assure you they don't care. They only speak two languages - votes and funding. Right now they aren't worried about either, despite the recent election results including the landslide recall of 3 San Francisco board members.

Politicians think people are dumb enough and have short enough attention span to forget and vote for them again. Prove them all wrong by voting them out and taking back your kids' education.

Liggins is asking the board for the ability to change the health recommendation without calling a meeting and all the time that is required for a reading, vote, etc. As soon as he gets that I'd say masks are done.

Was just coming here to post this. Assuming they approve that request, it looks very likely FCPS drops the mandate as soon as we drop out of the 'high' category, which appears imminent.

It seems clear to me that Liggins is ready to call it.

We dropped out of red today. We got word at CTK that we're out tomorrow. Good luck FCPS.

A lot of us also think we dropped out of red but FCPS just sent email at 8:19 pm tonight saying “At this time, the community level in Fayette County is classified as high according to state and federal metrics.”. Us parents are trying to figure out why FCPS numbers seem to be different than anyone else’s. With FCPS I could see them moving to a schedule where masking is determined by the hour 😁. Throughout the days kids take masks on and off depending on community spread at the top of every hour..that would be the “safest” 😉.

I'm in Fayette Cty. The bishop said he was told we're below red so they moved up the date until today.

Imo, once the masks come off this time they'll be hard pressed to ever require them again.
