I know as Husker fans we are all a little in shock about where we are right now. 2-3 is not what anyone anticipated the Huskers to be when we hired Mike Riley and moved on from the Bo Pelini era of 9 wins every year. I am not a BOliever and to be honest am still glad he is gone. 9 wins is great and all but we were getting embarrassed on the big stage every week we played a good team. I'm still behind Mike Riley and his staff but also feel that there is no way we should be 2-3. I am just hoping that if things don't go well this weekend that the fans don't get out of control and start booing the team and coaches. From what I am hearing we have A HUGE weekend as far as recruiting goes. We have a 5*, 7 - 4*, & 4 - 3* players on campus for this game! It will not set well in any of their eyes and minds if they come to the game and are greeted with Booing fans and a crowd that is not behind it's team.... Do the right thing everyone and support our Beloved Huskers... We have to stay behind them....

Totally agree... not sure everyone agrees with this though.

This is why this game is so important. Lots of big recruits will be there.

We don't want to crap the bed tomorrow.

I think we win this game pretty easily, but if it goes wrong.. I don't even want to think of the carnage this will cause and the fans will be vocal if the team doesn't have their act together.

Agree. Do your part as a fan and support the team in a positive manner and show the recruits how great this fan base is.

Agree. Hopefully those who are disillusioned with the coaches and team have given their tickets up cuz they don't want to be there.

Did that hold true for the people who were negative with the previous staff too? Did that not hurt recruiting also

Give it a rest. How hung up are you? Get the hell over it! If you must know, and as it has been pointed out on countless occasions, your boy was given years (not weeks) to try to get it right. He couldn't. People sure did start getting negative, but it was largely in the last couple years, you know, after he was given lots of time? Goodness gracious. How does this not sink in at some point? And even if you are still hurt over it, would it make you feel better to make it difficult for the new staff? Your group is just so juvenile in your thought process.

I care nothing about Pelini and actually like Riley just not so sure about his coaching skills - I simply pointed put that people seem to have a short memory when they were the ones supposedly hurting recruiting 12 months ago

Just an innocent little reminder that has nothing do with the OP? Good stuff.

What gets me is that the people that are the ones complaining and booing and saying negative things about where the program is and where it's going are the ones that are going to turn the recruits away from our program. Then they will complain even more when we lose out on a kid. Stay positive and behind your team or you're not a true fan in my eyes. I will bleed scarlet and cream till the day I die, and no matter what the record I will tune in, show up, or listen to the game and cheer for my Huskers! #GBR

Snohomish, like other posters have said, the timing is what is in question. I'm sure fan angst didn't help with Pelini either, but he wasn't on the hot seat after 5 games in the same way Riley appears to be. I believe this does make a difference... With Pelini, recruits knew what was what... With Riley, recruits might be tempted to wonder what the heck is going on if the fans are up in arms after 5 games... Timing definitely matters.

Brah - the criticism didn't start until year five from most people. We just had GAME five.
very true - It did get bad fast to be sure some of it was we were winning games ( losing big in some also) and at least for me it is that we have stupid issues

But lets hope for a good game this weekend - winning big would be be huge - winning would be big also - getting blown out woud not be a good thing

Most people agree. But all it takes is 10,000 drunks to make the other 75,000 look bad

If you met my uncle, you would agree that it only really takes one drunk to make all the others look bad.

This game needs a fast start in the worst way. If NU starts slow again, the natives will grow restless.

Wow! What makes you think we will win it easily? We are devastated with injury on defense. The only team we have beat easily has been S. Alabama, which is a team without a pulse, and Wisc has owned us since we joined the B1G.
