Nothing new to add, just thought we could move away from the "Next Year" thread. This year does seem to have that unknown feeling to it. In some years most of the spots are settled and expectations are clear. But this year, there are more unknown's but still some subtle excitement that it could be a title challenging year.

125 - biggest unknown?
133 - Heil - Big recruit with limited opportunities so far. How will he do?
141 - Collica? I would think so and would think he would be better
149 - Kindig is one of a few set weights
157 - Oh the potential excitement of seeing how well Marsteller can do
165 - Dieringer - Great wrestler moving up a weight. Will it slow him down? I don't think so
174 - Crutchmer is the only 174 on the roster. Could Rogers step up from 165 if needed?
184 - Will someone step up and take this spot or not?
197 - Schafer is another new starter with some collegiate experience. How will he do?
HWT - One of the few set weights. Can he challenge for a title?

We need guys like Collica, Heil, Crutch, and Rogers to take the next step. All have the pedigree and potential to be AA caliber. I think Schafer will shock people with how well he does this year. Nothing is out of the question with Chance if he can hold the weight in a healthy manner. There is the potential along with a great schedule to be a fantastic season.

With Eddie being reinstated back onto the team, the cowboys are shaping up to have a pretty deadly lineup.

125- Klimara
133- Heil
141- Collica
149- Kindig
157- Marsteller
165- Dieringer
174- Crutchmer
184- Boyd/Rogers
197- Schaefer
285- Marsden

2 finalists, Champ Dieringer and Runner up Kindig Return, as well as All American Marsden.
2 R12 Finishers in Klimara and Collica return.
Freshman Phenom Chance Marsteller slotted into the lineup at 157.
Looking for Heil to make some noise, and possibly from Shaefer and whoevers at 184.

Could make some noise at Nationals at the end of the season, in what is definitely shaping up to be one of the most exciting team races in quite a long time.

There is some discussion in the OKC Open thread. Sounds like 141 is between Schumacher, Dolan, or Malgado

Forgot about Schumacher as he is a little older. Not even sure a redshirt year would help him in the long term and with his experience wrestling he should be ready to go. It will be fun watching his career. Hope he does well in the classroom as well!

Kind of a unique story like Z was. The young man must be a little divergent to have taken this path.

Davey Dolan has a year longer in the room with the coaches and that makes a big advantage, I like all 3 of these wrestlers. Joe Schumacher has the biggest cut, Michael Magaldo has a easy cut to 141. Pulling for all 3 of them, may the best man win.

What happened to Collica? Is he hurt or unable to make the team? I know he was undersized last year and got out muscled, but showed a lot of promise in skill and ability to out maneuver many of his stronger opponents. I have never heard of these other three guys...where did they come from?

Osumatfan, where did you get your information about Joe schumacher? This is the first I have heare anyone mention him as a possiblle starter.

There are several threads still on the first page you can review. Here is a summary.

Schumacher - 22 year old freshman from South Dakota. Read the article linked in Tognetti's post. However, you can't search the post by Schumacher's name as Tognetti mis-spelled it twice in the same post.

Collica - John mentioned in an article or video that Collcia grew over the summer and can't make 141 anymore. He will redshirt for 149 or fight for 157. Too early to know.

Collica wasn't undersized last year, the cut took a lot out of him at 141. He wrestled at 152 in high school. Orangebomber, don't start acting like Oberebo and point out all my misspelling, that would be a full time job.

Sorry Mike, trying to save him some time. :)

It was a good article but there is some missing information as it was written in 2012 I believe. It left it as he was going to Oregon State.

Schumacher: What an interesting background! Orangebomber, thanks for the site. I am looking forward to seeing him wrestle! John may want this guy on the team really bad. This along with growth would make sense as to why Collica needs to redshirt and not kill himself trying to make 41.

I will miss Collica as I really liked his style and I am glad he has grown as he could really help our team next year at 49 or whereever he decides to wrestle...he will be hard to keep off the team with another year in the wrestling room and the weight room.

Orangebomber, thanks again...I am really way behind on the team developments this year.

What happened to Joe, he was told he was getting so much Scholarship money at Oregon State, he showed up for summer and then was told by the coaches that he needed to be a walk on. He did what I would of done and left. The coach also reduced a few other wrestlers on the team at that time. Not a happy place around that time. All the better for Joe, since he is closer to home and at a better school.

Sometimes it is hard to pick up on your spelling mistakes as they are so far off the reservation that it is hard to know what word you were trying to use. We forgive you your mistakes as the information is sometimes as good as gold and none of us are without faults.

Good luck to the Pokes this year, but not too much. It's an exciting time of year. Can't wait to see how your lineup shapes up by the end of the season.
