Both will have great college careers. I don't believe there style will translate to the NFL. Mixon on the other hand, will most likely, have a good run in the NFL.

The Big 230lb plus guys haven't had great success in the NFL. The great or really good, have the ability to make people miss. With big fast LB's and Safeties, in the NFL. They can't run over those guys, like they can in College. I hope Perine is the next Bettis but I do not see Perine or Henry being that back, that teams lineup against and hope they can hold them under 150 yards

Or another AD, why do you think neither will be great in the NFL? 8085

AD? Doesn't have the speed or East/West moves like AD does, awesome North/South though. Style-wise, closer to Earl Campbell than AD.

Having said all that, he's got terrific field vision, blocks, and runs over people. He's young and still learning too. No reason to think he won't play on Sunday's, but AD comparisons aren't realistic IMO.

I don't think we've seen the whole package that Perine will evolve into in the NFL. Kind of like AD.
AD wasn't nearly as tough at OU as he became with the Vikes. If AD had trucked fellows at OU like he does now, we'd have remembered that.
I see some parallels with Perine to that end.

Seriously, I think having a 30 million dollar contract brings out that little something extra...either that or you're so comfortable in your own skin you just flat don't give a ****.

I believe both will have some nice contracts in the NFL. Perine I think catches better than Henry and he's also big enough to play fullback. Unfortunately, FB isn't as big of a position these days on the NFL. But he has brute strength, much like Jerome Bettis. With the right offense, QB & WR, he can do great in the NFL. In today's NFL, I see him as a short yardage and goal line RB.

Henry looks like a bigger faster version of former Heisman winner, Buckeye and Houston Oiler, Eddie George. Okay and Tennessee Titan. Henry rushed for like 4000 yards his senior year of high school. That has nothing to do with quality as a college player, but it's a spectacular number. He averaged over 300 yards rushing per game that year.

And he's been spectacular at being the core of the Crimson Tide offense. THey have the fourth best quarterback of the four teams in the CFP, despite having a pretty salty corps of receivers. But he is the straw that stirs the Alabama drink. He has a lot more yards rushing that Samaje. And I'm pretty sure he'll be a much higher draft pick. I think if I were a pro general manager, I'd rather have Samaje, because I think he's a smarter player, and at the NFL level, the offenses are so much more complicated.

But as a college running back, while I love OUr combo better than the solo of the new Heisman winner, I believe he's a better college player and deserved the Heisman.

I remember AD running over EVERYONE. ;) But he's not AD. Not too many like him.

Trying to figure out how a player will do in the NFL is pointless as there are so many busts. Some players live up to the hype, some exceed the hype but the majority fall way short.

I am banking on Perine being good in the NFL. I have w etched him block quite well with his strength. I think e will ear his name in the NFL. Henry will also exceed.

I give Perine a better shot at making a good pro than Henry. More wiggle, better feet, better vision, better receiver, equal power and speed.

Todd Gurley is doing a great job running for the Rams, and has set some rookie record. I see the same for Perine, there is a need for a good running backs in the NFL.
