so they clearly think the Nike stuff means only Duke, from what I read. Yes, Duke is a Nike school. But of course Carolina isn’t involved.

BUT YOU HAVE MICHAEL JORDAN BRAND EVERYTHIBG!!!! He literally made Nike what it is now. How could Carolina not be involved, assuming Nike is involved?? Think about Carolina idiots! You literally are THE Nike school. Now go shut the hell up and shave Mayes eyebrows

The net worth of Nike is like 30 or 40 billion, if they were truly in danger of leaked information leading to investigation, they could afford to pay this idiot to shut up. The fact that they didn’t tells me that he’s full of garbage.

I believe that if a company is paying players to attend X school, they are doing it to all affiliated schools that they endorse with their products that sign big names. So, IF an investigation began with Nike, I’d believe that Duke, Carolina, whoever are guilty regardless of schools mentioned. They aren’t going to pay for the hottest player to sport their gear at one school and not the other. But, Nike isn’t in the hot seat or under investigation (to public knowledge) so there’s no point in getting fired up about anything... If the tarhole fan base wants to get a hard-on about some money hungry guy mentioning Duke’s name, let ‘em waste their time.

And yep, Air Jordan is a subsidiary under Nike brand. If a Nike investigation were to fire up, both Duke and UNC should start sweating. Not point fingers across Tobacco Road.

This reminds me of when I was working with a class of high school students last year and they had no clue that Jordan brand is Nike..

They legit thought Jordan was it’s own brand (like UA, Puma, Reebok) and had no affiliation with Nike.. they thought I was dumb until I pulled it up on the internet (when you Google “Jordan Brand”, the first several links are Nike.com).. half of these kids were wearing Jordan’s during this.

Not exactly on topic, but is there any former athlete whose prime was 20 years ago whose brand is at the top of his field? I used to be a fan but now he makes me sick. I can't wait for the Zion Brand to make Jordan irrelevant.

RR is just as bad as THR in this regard. They just “know” that Duke is involved but they “know” that Kentucky can’t possibly be involved

If Nike is found at fault somehow, then the ceiling is the roof.

I guarantee the NCAA wanted the nod to “conduct investigations” from the feds to protect profits. If Nike were to come under fire, they’ll throw a couple artifacts out there but will protect the powerhouses. UK, Duke, UNC, etc. — If the top programs get busted and have to face repercussion, they’ll lose so much money. No way it happens.

I think when we hear "prominent Nike brand" in 2019, Duke is the first place everyone goes...which you should take as a compliment. Combine that with all the top 5 kids Duke has landed since 2014 and it's pretty clear the first thing non-Duke fans are going to think "is this Duke?"

I also think the reason most Heels fans think UNC would be in the clear is the point made above, we've struck out on every top 5 recruit in the past 10 years (only got Little cuz the AZ stuff blew up, we were never getting him without it).

Is it just top 5 recruits being paid, of course not...but they are the ones that are the primary focus of these shoe companies and probably getting paid the most. So could the misses by Roy turn out to be a blessing? Possibly.

Either way, if UNC or Duke players get busted I'd bet the evidence would stop well short of K or Roy.
