Will this affect our recruitment on them?

I am not sure, but Moreno may be Adidas guy as well...

With UL being an Adidas school and now with Kinney partnered up with Adidas and he’s visiting there soon. That doesn’t make me feel good about our chances
I think we will lean on Jasper being here and that Kinney likes Kentucky

After this, I think we are more likely to get Crowe. Hope we can pull in both, but I highly doubt it.

This staff is reaching out to more west coast kids than we have since Tubby was here. Hope they can reel them in.
I don’t believe we have even had a California Kid that met expectations. We have done well with Washington guys, but you can keep all those Cali Kids.

Tayshaun Prince and Chuck Hayes say WHAAAAATTTT!!!!!
Ya, I really wasn’t gonna go all the way back to Tubby but….
We haven’t had a California Kid work out in a quarter century. Fixed it.
Most got homesick and left.

I no longer stress about HS recruits.

Portal players in general are more reliable.
Same. Actually surprised at how many are still pretty hung up of freshmen. Have we learned nothing? Give me proven commodities, and mature bodies and minds any day. Unless it's a legit generational guy or absolute top 3 guy, I'd spend the money in the portal, easily.

Top 10 or the portal for immediate impact, most usually. Your high impact freshman will usually be top 5.
Nah. For me, they'd have to be a sure fire top 3. Anything else is gambling good money that could go to proven. Even a bench portal can easily have a bigger reward than whomever is 9 or 10.

These recruits signing with Adidas almost 100% guarantees UK, or any other Nike school for that matter, is out of the running for these recruits. No way Adidas would sign a player and then let them lace up Nikes

I think we could still get Kinney if we want him. But, like I said, I’m not sweating over a HS recruit. Give me a portal player almost every time. Very few exceptions.

Doesn’t mean ****. Just a way for these guys to make money in high school. These contracts will be up before they head to college. Justin Edwards signed with Adidas before he picked Kentucky.

I don’t think the brand matters like it did in earlier years. The kids will wear a Nike uniform at UK and could have adidas shoes on that just means Nike and adidas pay them NIL. The only thing that would get in the way is if adidas puts a clause on the contract and says you can’t wear anything we compete with so that would be a damper on UK Nike uniforms. However I don’t think adidas would do that and by the time they get in college the one year hs contract is over and they get paid already.
