“That’s a really fun way to play. And not many coaches are telling you, ‘If you don’t shoot the ball, you’re gonna sit next to me.’ So, it’s a lot of fun.”
Don't be shocked if Cal tells his guys to run and go THE OTHER WAY in the middle of trying to score. We could absolutely smoke some teams this year.I thoughthad cracked the code with the platoon. We did win 38 straight. Then he said we'll never do that again. It was similar to 96 when we just ran people to death. Since Pope was there, will he try to recreate that style of play?

Unfortunately, we were ranked in the bottom half of the NCAA in offensive possessions per game during the 2015 season. Cal certainly didn’t use that insane amount of depth to wear down other teams. As the season progressed we went from free flowing to a more methodical, predictable approach where we were solely winning based on our talent discrepancy.I thoughthad cracked the code with the platoon. Yeah, because as we figured outUnfortunately, we were ranked in the bottom half of the NCAA in offensive possessions per game during the 2015 season. The Platoon was great. It led to a historically great defense. However it ended with the Poythress injury in Dec. By mid Jan we were down to an 8 man rotation with Lee (#9) getting a few minutes.I thoughthad cracked the code with the platoon. We did win 38 straight. Then he said we'll never do that again. It is fine and dandy to shoot a lot of 3's but we have to make a lot of them to win games.
We may win some by 25 or 30 but we could lose some by 20+ With that said bring on Pope
and his 3 musketeers (all 12 of This thread should be called the chicken littles. All teams live and die by their shooting.
Pretty sure we’ve found the quickest way home already.I don't mind us shooting threes, I love it. I I also don't want to be one of those teams that lives and dies by them either. Because that is the quickest way home for sure.
UConn was the ONLY team in the TOP 25 scoring offenses and also in the TOP 25 ponts-allowed defenses. You still win with defense. Give me a team of old players who wont play like Reed in his first NCAA game like a deer in the head lights moment but the Reed that in his first NBA game tourched the Lakers.
Next year will be like Pitino's 1st season here, 3's coming from everywhere. Except next years team will have a lot more size, talent & depth than Pitino's 1st team did. And as a result we'll be a much better team next season than what Pitino had.
I can laugh now....Pretty sure we’ve found the quickest way home already.
Oh no, for sure. I just don't want our offense to only rely on threes. Because we've all seen what happens when that's all you got. It either works, or you lose by 30.Pretty sure we’ve found the quickest way home already.
We’ve all needed some kind of therapy after these last five years. The enema the program got this spring was long overdue.I can laugh now....
If I didn’t know better I would say Reed found some confidence. Maybe his coach believed in him enough to start him?? What a crazy idea??You still win with defense. Give me a team of old players who wont play like Reed in his first NCAA game like a deer in the head lights moment but the Reed that in his first NBA game tourched the Lakers.
