To clarify, the 9pm start time is actually a soft start time. With Purdue and ASU not playing until 7pm, the chances of anything starting before 9:30pm are typically pretty slim....and the only way the game starts by 9:30 is if it's over in two hours or less. If it's a close game it will be closer to 9:45-10pm, whereas it goes to OT, heaven forbid, we're looking at after 10pm.
From experience of working in the media, basically the 9pm listed start time is the absolute earliest they would start the game. If they listed 9:30, but the first game was over in say an hour and 45 minutes, then they wouldn't be able to start until 9:30, when in actuality, they'd probably be ready to go at 9:15. Doesn't make a lot of sense but it is what it is.
