Find yo self a lady of the night to keep you company tonight. A lot cheaper than marriage and less baggage.
As a veteran of several breakups and a divorce, I’d rather be alone anytime than be with the wrong person or someone who drags you down. But yes it’s no fun being alone on special occasions/events.
Going through it now. Still living together like roommates. Don’t like being around her. Can’t wait to get it over with.
My neighbors are doing the same thing and I can’t imagine how miserable that has to be. When my ex-wife and I decided to divorce I couldn’t get out of the house quick enough. One of you needs to call it a day and move out, it can’t be healthy living together like that.

Cheaper to keep her is not true. There are more important things in life than monetary riches. Besides, eventually you crawl out from underneath the strain and get back on your feet. It took me some years, but I am much better off now. I waited 10 years before jumping back in the saddle and it has so far worked out better. Married 10 first time, divorced for 10 and now will be married 25 years to my second wife in June.
My first wife cheated on me while I was a Drill Instructor because I was gone so much. Army life kept me gone a lot but being a Drill Sergeant was the last straw for her. As soon as I found out (a woman showed me pictures of my wife and her fiancée) I got out of the house and never went back. Filed for a divorce and about a year and a half later (she tried to get me back and kept fighting the divorce) we got it done. Nothing made me happier then.
Yeah easier said than done. In the middle of a major renovation. Listing house in spring. Neither of us can afford this house alone. Thank god for my workshop lol
They are Godsends (workshops). I have 2. 1 smaller than the other but connected (same length but slanted roof) used as storage. Combined they are 40 X 40.
Good for you, 37 for me in May and I feel the same way.
As an aside, I did some divorce work early in my career, and quickly grew to hate it. No one was happy when they walked in my office, and very few were happy when the matter concluded . . . except if there were minor children involved, it didn't reallly conclude, it went on and on with fights over visitation, child support, etc. As often as not, the client would end up mad at me, as well as the soon to be ex spouse, and the judge. I decided I would rather dig ditches than spend any more time in divorce court.
As an aside, an awful lot of divorce attorneys seem to turn into ******** over the years, just impossible miserable people to deal with, probably related to the line of work they are in and the situations they have to deal with.
