Todays halftime presentation was the biggest joke ever.

It looked like they threw it together five minutes before the game started. Terrible.

wtf? are you serious, what more do you want? fireworks or somethings. The reason it looked bad was cause Jack rolled right through the names.

Didn't they produce a whole film about that? Seems like they could have thrown that in as well.

That was the worst effort at a tribute to a successful, historical team at MSU. Hell, they played music while Jack made an attempt at introducing the players, and the music started out louder than Jack's mic. Nothing on the Tron showed the player at the time they attended State while being introduced. It was a horrific attempt to do something nice for a deserving group.

With the limited 15 minutes of half time they only had about 7 minutes alloted for the presentation, 3 for the regular halftime promotions and the rest for the two team to warm up. Some of the video that was show was from the movie. What made it look like it was thrown together was the way the team was introduced. The original plan was for Jack to introduce the player, have a shot of them walking to the court on the jumbotron, show a picture with their name, then finally show them receiving their plaque. But jack screwed the entire thing up by going so quick. If you noticed they did show the players pictures afterwards.

What was ridiculous was

1. Their playing Natalie Cole's "Unforgettable."
2. Their playing Natalie Cole's "Unforgettable" at full blast and so loud you could not hear the introductions.
2. Jack stating the team captain will give a trophy to Larry Templeon and Pres. Foglesong ... and Foglesong not being there.
3. Hardly any mention of their having to sneak out of the state to play the game and no mention of WHY they had to sneak out -- just repeatedly saying it was one of the NCAA's top 25 moments (not why it was significant).

It was just awful for something that could have really been awesome.

that our athletic department and PR people completely 17'd up something. What an embarrassment.

Did anyone else catch Jack when he got down to the mic asking for his script, then he said "This whole thing?"....First, classic Jack. Second, nobody had the decency to give it to him in advance? Damn that is ******....I couldnt tell you who was who on the court? I noticed they played the guy's name and picture from their playing days after the ceremony.....alot of good that did us.

Hell, the way Flick pumped it up during the first half, I was expecting something like the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.

That being said, lets hope that in 2049 when the honor the 2004 SEC Champs at 45 years, they will be prepared and much better, and give Jack the script before time. Jack would probably appreciate that.

The poor guy on our end of the floor got only ONE chance to nab the poultry, since the shooters couldn't even get the giant chicken-slinging rubberband to fire properly.

How old will Jack be in 2049?

Maybe he has found the fountain of immortality along with Ron Polk.

Also, if they gave Jack the script right before the thing started, that's not his fault. How hard would it have been to take 30 minutes a few hours before the game to practice the thing?

This should have been one of the most well thought out and planned ceremonies in MSU history. I hate the mediocrity of our public relations. Whoever was in charge of that **** should be fired.

All because a bunch of can't-****, labia-waving sissy-Socialist professors whined like a bunch of little girls because they were FORCED to actually work for a living, instead of spending their time making Graduate Assistants teach their classes and write their published writings.

Only at MState does this **** happen.

Why were they being honored? What's the big deal about an SEC champion going to the NCAA tournament?

Now stop before you hit reply. I know what's special about that team. I would guess 75% of those in attendance know what's special about the '63 team. You mean to tell me that not once in this "special presentation" that they can't mention how culturally significant this was?

I was interested to see what it was going to be, especially hearing Flick during each timeout remind us to be in our seats for halftime.

Instead we got a <17>'n chicken toss and the Abner's "competition".

AA - extremely disappointed in how halftime went down

That's what I was saying above. Foglesong was at the game, Jack announced he was accepting the trophy on MSU's behalf, and he wasn't up there. You couldn't put aside your feelings for one moment to honor this team? And, yes, I'm speaking to BOTH LT and Foglesong. I don't know who's to blame, but I have a feeling it is a mixture of both's feelings being too hurt. Boo hoo. From our faculty, to LT, to Foglesong, we have a bunch of whiny vaginas walking around.
