Dude is a creepo and I really don’t like his comments about Aberdeen. First he gets boogie fland from Arkansas then complains about Kentucky in his words took advantage of the situation and got him to transfer. Also said he hates seeing him in Kentucky blue and he’s gonna have to face a Florida crowd when they play in which they’ll be prepared for him. Good luck Mr chomo!

I also don't agree with everyone wishing and hoping Golden won't do well at FL. I think he is a good coach. I doubt he stays at FL for long though as he will get a blue blood offer within 5 years.

As was pointed out to me on this board his charges were dropped. I unfortunately found him guilty until proven innocent, so I was wrong for that.

In terms of the case, from what I understand the way the school “chose” to investigate the situation was that it was a Title IX approach, but since the texting/stalking occurred outside of an official athletics department setting then Title IX didn’t apply. Which begs the question why it was framed as a Title IX thing but whatever.

The guy was successful and won a championship. Be interesting to see if he can sustain success; that’s always the bigger challenge that separates the good from the greats IMO. He’s young so we’ll see.

Florida was not the best team in the country the last month of the season. They were the only 1 seed to not steamroll their bracket, should have lost in the 2nd round to UCONN, and they were the only 1 seed to have a close Elite8 game (Texas Tech literally blew that one away.)

We all know who the best team in the country was, but luckily they pooped their pants being up 12 with 3 minutes left against Houston.

I seriously doubt the SEC coaches underestimate Todd Golden as much as we UK fans do. If he stays at Florida this will not be his only championship team.

I work in an academic setting, and the Title IX office is it's own thing. "The school" will have next to no influence at all and very often do not operate under regular processes of disciplinary process with responsibility being assessed only on a "likely" to have committed what was alleged. Law enforcement also does not answer to the school's admin and if there was something to charge, they also would be independent to do so. Not sure how much "influence" the school has in the Gainesville police department.

Either way he seems like an odd character to me.

i personally liked the guy that went to drake. I think he’s going to be a problem eventually as he’s going to get a really good offer soon. my guess is Kansas nabs him. The level of success he had at D2 has been seldom duplicated.

I’m still on the fence on Pope. I gotta see a dominant season. 4-6 losses. 1 seed. SEC titles. He’s gotta prove to me he can do that at this level before i’m going to go crazy. He had a pretty good first year considering. Better than what was expected. But he’s still got a ton to prove.

I think Pope becomes a dominant college coach. Too smart. Too likeable. Unique style. Got the X & 0s. Fearless. Welcomes the challenges. He’s gonna win titles.

Learned under great teachers. Versatile and willing to adapt.

He gave teams fits last year with a quickly pieced together lineup that had crippling injuries.
