I wonder if any of the 14 were having 13 players on the field or being offsides on the 2nd to last play of the game. I would have said penultimate play of the game but you might have thought I was a SMU grad.

Or any of the holds on their tackles.

To be fair there was a missed face mask on Ward at the end of the first half

I'm not sure why he's complaining. He won. If either the offsides or too many players on the field were called, he very well might not have. We were moving on them at will and getting stops. I think we'd prevailed in OT. But we'll never know.

I'm frustrated we're even talking about what might have happened in overtime. TU tied the game, got a defensive stop, got the ball with lots of time left needing only to get into field goal range, got a first down then...fumble-six. Oh well, it's very encouraging that we played so well on the road against a quality team.

As frustrating as that was, gotta give props for not throwing in the towel and marching back down the field in a position to tie it again. I honestly think coach would have went for two had we scored.

Coaches send in tape every week. This is normal. He's only talking about it to distract because he knows everyone is talking about officials handing his team the game

This. We had the ball with a chance to win. It doesnt matter what sport you played. If you played, you know that this is all you can ask for.

Yeah, 2 cracks at it from the 1 and 2 yard line. If you can't get those yards, the opponent deserves the W. I would've preferred a spiked ball by Dane or a throw instead of the run up the middle after the first down. Or a bootleg, or anything that was unexpected. I think he ran it up the middle to try and draw the flag though, so I can't fault Dane for the play call. Had he known the refs wouldn't have called it, I bet he tries a short pass or spikes the ball. But hey, that's just conjecture at this point. The guys and the coach have put it behind them, so should we. Tulane is going to be a much tighter game than most people think.
