Just to change the subject off of local and rather unpleasant matters:
My top 5 or so after one week. Alabama (obviously); then, in no particular order, Houston, Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, and Ohio State. As a group, SEC West looked terrible, can’t see Bama losing to anyone in that division, but they do play at Tennessee (who will improve greatly over their first game)
Notre Dame-Texas was the best game of the weekend. Frankly, I was really impressed with both teams. Really enjoyed Wisconsin v. LSU, some of the games in pro stadiums have fallen a little flat, e.g. North Carolina v. South Carolina in Charlotte last year, but that one was a hell of an atmosphere.
Speaking of pro stadium matchups, Houston v.Oklahoma was another terrific game, if only to showcase just how damn good Houston is. They demolished OU (game not nearly as close as the final score) and beat the hell out of Florida State in the Peach Bowl last year. I think they can crash the Final Four if they win out (Louisville will be their toughest game)
