It's working out beautifully folks. If Wisconsin wins the Big Ten and Villanova wins the Big East, I think this happens. If Wisconsin loses, then Nova goes south and Virginia gets the 1 back with Wisconsin as their 2.

East
1. Villanova
2. Virginia

South
1. Wisconsin
2. Kansas

Midwest
1. Kentucky
2. Gonzaga

West
1. Duke
2. Arizona

I don't disagree that this is a likely scenario. I just find it hilarious that a 2 loss VA that won the ACC regular season gets a 2 seed and a 4 loss Duke team that hasn't won anything gets a 1 seed.

Maybe because UVA had a comparitively easy ACC schedule and only a moderately challenging OOC schedule, with no real great wins where Duke has the best wins in the country.

The "head to head" stuff probably factors into this.

If I were Virginia, I'd take this bracket. Instead of possibly being a 1 seed and being sent out West, you get to be a 2 seed and stay close to home.

Regular season conference standings and head to head mean nothing. It's the entire body of work that the committee considers for selecting at-large teams and seeding for all teams.

In 1997 South Carolina won the SEC regular season, and beat UK twice to boot; but UK got a 1 seed and USC a 2 seed. That's just one of several examples.

How many of those eight teams got spanked by twenty on there home floor by a unranked team, DUKE, talk about a bad loss.

If Arizona wins their tournament, they get the 1 seed over Duke. Everything else looks spot on except as of now except Kansas. They dont deserve it, but probably will get it.

Duke will get the nod over VA primarily because of their head to head matchup which Duke won at VA. But also because of wins at Wiscy and UNC.

Midwest
Kentucky
Gonzaga

South
Wisconsin
Kansas

East
Villanova
Virginia

West
Duke
Arizona

Arizonas resume is far weaker than Dukes.

It needs to be pointed out that Duke's win at Wisconsin is not all that its cracked up to be. Sulaimon scored 14 points in a 10 point win there. It should be downgraded because of that, same as folks want to downgrade UVA now that Anderson is not 100% and may not be, altho their first real tests are still 2 weeks away.

Sulaimon also scored 10 in an 8 point win at Wake and altho his stats were pretty much empty at UL, his minutes as another solid ballhandler against UL's pressure cannot be discounted.

Duke without Sulaimon is not as good as Duke was with him.

That may be true, but Duke has beat UVA on the road without him, ND, UNC twice, at UL...aka all their best wins other than Wisconsin have came post Sulaimon.
